SUNDAY WORSHIP November 12, 2017 10:30 a.m. Ou r Mission: Gro wing in Sp irit Living as D isciple s Se rving God s World Preparation for Worship Creator, open our hearts to peace and healing between all people. Creator, open our hearts to provide for and protect all children of the earth. Creator, open our hearts to respect for the earth, and all the gifts of the earth. Creator, open our hearts to end exclusion, violence, and fear among all. Thank you for the gifts of this day and every day. Call to Worship One: A blessing on you who mourn. All: You shall be comforted. One: A blessing on you who are poor in resources or in spirit. All: Yours is the Kingdom of God. One: A blessing on you who hunger for justice. All: You shall be satisfied. One: A blessing on you who make peace. All: You shall be called children of God. One: Let us worship God. Hymn #1 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty! Prayer of Confession Holy and gracious God, At times we feel frail and helpless, getting blown about by the latest crisis, by bad news, by our own short tempers and failings. You call us to hold fast to what is good, but so often we flounder, unable to find that solid thing that will center us again. Forgive and help us, we pray. Help us to see you as our center, and to cling to the good that you create in the world. Help us to set aside all our jealousies and prejudices, all of our betrayals and lies, all that adds to the world s hurt. Help us to grow ever more into Christ s likeness, that we will bear his love and truth to the world. We pray in his name. Amen. Assurance of Forgiveness Leader: The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting unto everlasting. As far as the East is from the West, so far has God removed our transgression from us. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are all forgiven. People: Thanks be to God. We Proclaim God s Word Anthem How Can I Keep From Singing Carter Chancel Choir Children s Message Children ages 3 & 4 are invited to Play n Worship in Room 13.
