ANNOUNCEMENTS and OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE Gift Wrap for Bethany House. As you prepare for the holidays, please remember our annual collection of gift wrap, gift bags, tags, ribbon, and bows for Bethany House. Bethany House provides safe housing and services to victims of domestic violence in Northern Virginia. Grace supports Bethany House through this project, the mission budget, and through your contributions at the Alternative Gift Fair. Please place your gift wrap in the collection box in the Tower Entrance by December 6. MMEPJ News. Our partner church in Nablus said goodbye to Father Ibrahim this year and installed new pastor, Deacon Wadie N. Far, in October. A graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary, Deacon Far is quite familiar with the DC area and is looking forward to continuing the partnership with Grace. Father Ibrahim is settled in and happy at his new pastorate in Zarka, Jordan, a congregation of about 300 mostly Palestinian refugees. Grace recently sent $1,500 to Nablus to support their school needs and Christmas activities, and $2,000 to the Christian hospital in Gaza.

5 Helpful Giving Information from Finance. Charitable contributions from your IRA can be made to Grace if you are 70-1/2 or older and you have to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). You can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) that will count towards satisfying your RMD for the year, and will be excluded from your taxable income. If you are interested and would like additional information, please contact your IRA custodian or Mike Phillips, Finance Elder. Sundays at 9:15 a.m. - Church Turned Upside Down: The Reformation. This week, we examined two areas which so clearly marked us as Presbyterians, the Genevan (French) and Scottish Reformation and their respective leaders, John Calvin and John Knox. We meet in the Family Room here at church every Sunday. Weekday Sunday School Groups. Conversations adjourns for the Thanksgiving holiday, but will reconvene one more time on December 5 before breaking until the New Year. The Mid-Week Bible Study is also taking a break until January.
