Madison Collard is collecting Children s Books as part of her Silver Award project, the 2nd highest award in the Girl Scouts. K.I.C.K (KIDS INTO CHRIST S KINGDOM) FOR KIDS IN KINDERGARTEN GRADE 5 All kids are invited to join us on Wednesdays from 6:15 7:30 p.m. Our time together will include music, scripture, games, and activities. Upcoming: The Gospel According to Dr. Seuss Lego Lessons TEACHER ASSISTANTS NEEDED can you assist in a classroom once or twice a month? Our preschool class needs an extra hand and we would love to have you help out. Please contact Sherry Jackson if you are interested. DONATIONS NEEDED: We will be needing individually wrapped candies, stickers, tattoos, and small toys for our Egg Hunt. Please bring all donated items to the box in the Narthex or the Family Life Center. More information to come soon. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Want a fun way to volunteer and help out at St. Andrew s UMC? Be a candy stuffer for the egg hunt, a Vacation Bible School helper, or Sunday School assistant. The more volunteers the better. MARK YOUR CALENDAR S Butterfly Release On Sunday, April 16th. We will have a program at 10:10 a.m. on to release our butterflies into the world as we rejoice in our risen Savior. Please feel free to bring any butterflies you have ordered and release them with us as a group. BUTTERFLIES ARE COMING! Butterfly order forms will be available beginning Wednesday, February 1st. You can order butterflies to release on your own or join us on Easter Sunday, April 16th for a time of celebration during the Sunday School Hour. Order for yourself, children or grandchildren or even make a donation for teachers to to share in classes with their students. 3

5 BULLETIN BOARD ST. ANDREW S UMC IS IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH SOUND ON SUNDAY MORNINGS. We need people who are trained to run the soundboard; and then able to donate a few Sundays each year to run sound for worship. Please contact Gayle Smith if you are willing to serve in this manner. We will schedule a training date and some Sundays for you to follow current sound techs before you are on the schedule rotation. Thank you for your service. SENIOR EVENT MARY/MARTHA CIRCLE MEETING Tuesday, February 7th, meeting will be at 12:00 p.m. in the Commons Room #1. SUSANNA CIRCLE Sunday, February 12th at 12:30 p.m. in the Commons Room #1. RUTH CIRCLE MEETING Tuesday, February 14th at 10:00 a.m. in the Commons Room #1. HARVESTERS. Join us on Thursday, February 2nd, at 10:30 a.m. in the Commons Room #1. UNITED METHODIST WOMENS CIRCLES Our 13th season of Room In the Inn (Ministry for the Homeless) began in December. The sign-up board is available in the FLC for the early service and in the Narthex for the 11:15 a.m. service. We have been very blessed that the Lord has brought this ministry to St. Andrew s UMC for all of these years. There are many ways you can volunteer; and will find yourself blessed to have done so. Please review the sign-up board for details as to the different areas where help is needed. We assemble toiletry bags to leave on each Neighbor s cot with donations of the following items currently needed: Small (travel size) deodorants, one gallon zip-lock bags, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. Hebrews 13:2 says: Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Your prayerful consideration to serve in this ministry is greatly appreciated. OUR UNITED METHODIST WOMEN are collecting Country Time Lemonade in 5 lb. 2.5 oz. size. These are used once a month when our United Methodist Women go to Urban Ministries to share a cup of lemonade and a smile. Help support our women with this ministry area. A collection bin is located in the Narthex. Visit the Holy Land Thank you for your donations of 60 pounds to Loaves and Fishes. Because of the support of this community, our emergency food pantries have never had to turn away a client. Last year, Loaves and Fishes fed 71,000 people in the Charlotte Mecklenburg area. Gary is planning to lead a November 2017 Holy Land trip that will be customized to include the most interesting sites and to make it a truly meaningful experience.
