It is an honor to have been recently installed as president of the Nebraska Section of ASCE. We had a great annual meeting on May 17th at Quarry Oaks. We were fortunate enough to have many guests and award winners at the meeting, including the student award winners from UNL and UNO, new ASCE Life Members, Dr. Puckett from UNL, and ASCE Region 7 Governor Jeff Young. With your help, I m excited to take on the next big challenges for ASCE. One of my top priorities is to make sure we provide a toolkit with a DVD for ASCE s Dream Big movie to every public school in the state and as many private and parochial schools as we can. We are opening it up to all our members first to donate to any school of your choice by going online to engineersdreambig.org or follow the link on our section website, neasce.org. The Nebraska Section will be providing the tool kit to any public schools our members have not already donated to. Be on the lookout this next year for ASCE Nebraska Section on social media. Keep an eye on future newsletters and s for more information. I hope everyone enjoys a few months off from ASCE meetings and conferences and is ready to start getting back in full swing in September.
