Success r failure in the future is determined by a child's upbringing - Prverbs 22:6 SECTION 2: IMPORTANCE OF THE CHILDREN S CELL MINSITRY The bible declares in 2 Timthy 3:14 15 But cntinue in the things which thu has learned and hast been assured f knwing f whm thu hast learned them; And that frm a child thu hast knwn the hly scriptures which are able t make thee wise unt salvatin thrugh faith which is in Christ Jesus. We see that frm a child Timthy knew the scriptures. It is very imprtant that a child begins t learn the scriptures s that as he r she grws will nt depart frm it as the bible says in Prverbs 22:6 Train up the child the way he shuld g and when he is ld he will nt depart frm it A lt f times, ministry is relegated t the backgrund when parents are planning fr their children's future and career. Yu find parents planning that their children will be Dctrs, Lawyers, Ecnmists, Bankers, Engineers, Accuntants and the likes. S the children dn't receive training in their fundamental purpse in life, which is t be Ministers f Recnciliatin. Apart frm being a platfrm fr leadership develpment in the children, The BLW Children's Cell Ministry helps the children t be trained as Ministers f the gspel and understand their rles as ministers f recnciliatin and as ministers f Gd, what exactly they are suppsed t d such that when they grw up, ministering t peple becmes their secnd nature. It wnt be smething that they learn when they have grwn up but wuld be part f them. They will understand the ministry f the Hly Ghst, the place f Gd's wrd in their lives and spiritual things.

6 Lk at David in the bible; David was a yung man wh we saw in scriptures the aninting f Gd was wrking in his life. He had lder siblings wh had being trained in war but they had nt being trained r expsed t the wrkings f the Aninting in their lives. And s it is pssible fr a child t be pen and expsed t the wrkings f the Aninting in their lives and be trained in spiritual things. Pastr has tld us severally that we can be raised in spiritual things and be raised in spiritual matters. 3 Therefre, we see that the essence fr the cell system is nt just a frmality r fr children t gather in small grups but an pprtunity fr them t be raised in spiritual things, t learn hw t cmmunicate spiritual things, hw t teach thers spiritual things. Paul said t Timthy; And the things that thu hast heard f me amng many witnesses, the same cmmit thu t faithful men wh shall be able t teach thers als 2 Timthy 2:2 This is ur cnsciusness in designing a cell ministry fr children summarized belw; We believe and understand that; Children can knw the scriptures Children can be filled with the Hly Ghst The Hly Ghst that children are filled with is nt a child Hly Ghst but the same Hly Ghst that Jesus Christ was filled with and it carries all the abilities f Gd. They may nt be able t knw hw t fully activate it r have the wisdm yet because f their age t be able t put it t wrk in their lives but it is available t them. And the mre we train them and the mre we bring their cnsciusness t being aware that they have been aninted f Gd t d great things, t heal the sick, t cast ut devils, t minister the wrd f Gd, the mre cnscius they are f it and the mre they will d it with bldness and with cnfidence. The Cell Ministry fr the Believers Children's Ministry becmes an pprtunity fr the children t learn spiritual things, practice and demnstrate them. Halleluiah! This is why it is s critical and imprtant that the cell system is planned and deliberate. First f all, we have already being shwn a pattern, - the pattern f meetings and hw t run these meetings in the Cell System Manual that we use acrss the Ministry. The children can be trained t start cells in their primary schls; set a time when they meet and share and minister the wrd f Gd t their mates and als hw t respnd t the nudging and prmptings f the Spirit f Gd.

7 4 CHILDREN'S CELL STRUCTURE The Cell System f the Believers LveWrld Children's Ministry is fr children ages 8-12years; that is upper Elementary and Preteens Age levels respectively. The grupings f the cells and cell meetings als fllw this structure. Please see table belw; Cell Grup Upper Elementary Cell Grups Preteens Cell Grups Age Range 8 10years years CHILDREN'S CELL MEETINGS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES Cell activities are a cntributry factr t the cell grwth. The purpse f cell activities is basically t give every member f the cell an understanding that everyne is respnsible fr and t anther and fr cell grwth. Typical activities in the children's Cell include the fllwing: Prayer Chains We can engage the children peridically t pray in a prayer chain t help them develp the culture f intercessin and help strengthen relatinships between the cell members. The prayer chain wrks by simply chsing a time belt where the children pray individually wherecer they are fr a subject r several subjects at the same time. The prayer reference pints can range frm praying abut the cell utreach, Critical Schl Exams, the health f a cell member, Children's Church r ministry prgrams, and s n. Outreaches This kind f utreach is slightly different frm the 3rd meeting f the mnth, which is the cell utreach. Here we are lking at the cell being an extensin f the children's church t their neighbrhd. This will invlve activities like the free distributin f Rhapsdy f Realities fr kids and Early Readers and ther materials fr children. It culd als include the cell members participating in partnership giving fr the purpse f reaching the wrld thrugh ur televisin netwrks, utreach t ur inner cities and the destitute especially children. The Adult Cell supervisrs shuld wrk with the cell leader t mbilize all the members f the cell grups t participate in these utreach activities. Cell Meetings As utlined in The Cell System Manual, The cells have different types f meetings. Hwever, every cell meeting has in it 10 minutes f Bible study time. This is t help achieve ur bjective f nurturing the children fr their spiritual develpment and grwth in the wrd f Gd and sund in dctrine. The rder f activities fr every cell meeting is clearly utlined in The Mnthly Cell Meeting Outlines and shuld be fllwed by the cell leader guided by the Adult Cell Supervisr. Publicity Of Church And Ministry Prgrams The cells are avenues t ensure that annuncements n ministry prgrams, church prgrams and the children's church prgrams are cascaded t every member fr maximum impact. These annuncements shuld be included in the weekly cell templates that the cell leaders use fr the cell meetings each week.

9 SECTION 3: INSTITUTING A VIBRANT CELL MINISTRY STRUCTURE IN YOUR CHILDREN'S CHURCH S hw d yu begin? Hw d yu institute a Cell Ministry Structure in yur Children's Church? 5 1. Appint Adult Cell Supervisrs, which culd be the assistant teacher r any ther assigned member f the Children's Ministry team in yur lcal CE Church wh will ensure that the set bjectives and utlined plans fr the cells are achieved as well keep prper recrds f all cell activities and database f cell members 2. Yu must establish a Cell Ministry Structure in yur children's church In the BLW Children's Ministry, the cell system begins frm Age 8years (Upper Elementary) t Age 12 years (Preteens) and shuld be categrized by age levels. 3. Every Child within the age range f 8-12years MUST be in a cell categrized accrding t their ages s that the ministratins are age apprpriate. 4. Schedule and ensure that the cell meetings t hld in the alltted times within the service schedule r as utlined in the scpe and sequence f activities in the curriculum. 5. Due t the varying attentin spans f children in these age range, the cell meeting duratin shuld be minutes under the supervisin f the teacher r assigned team member r children's cell ministry crdinatr 6. The cell meeting structure shuld fllw the prescribed pattern in The Cell System Manual; The Prayer & Planning Meeting Bible Study Meeting Outreach Meeting Fellwship Meeting (Please find mre details in the Cell Activities & Meetings Sectin in this Guidebk) Develp Cell Meeting Templates fr the different types f meeting with the schedule f activities and utline fr the meeting clearly highlighted t guide the cell leader t cnduct the meeting.

10 HOW TO ORGANIZE EFFECTIVE CHILDREN'S CELL MEETINGS 6 Cell Meeting Template: Crdinatrs: Hld a Planning meeting with yur teachers and team f Cell supervisrs t plan and determine the structure f activities that wuld take place in each type f cell meeting in the mnth and what yu want t achieve with them. Develp a Cell Meeting Template fr the cell meetings (Prayer & Planning meeting, Bible Study meeting, Fellwship meeting and Outreach meeting respectively) that fully utlines in the detail, the run f activities fr the meetings. (Please refer t the LveWrld Children's Ministry Cell Meeting Guide) Yu can use these templates t simulate r rehearse the cell meetings with the cell leaders t train them and help bst their cnfidence Simulating The Cell Meetings: D yur utmst t simulate these different types f meetings whether they will be held in the children's church r as cell meetings in their schls. This wuld help with making the meetings mre interesting and nt mntnus, which culd lead t bredm Realize that ne f the ways children learn is by imitating. Yu simulate these meetings by calling ut the cell leaders and tell them t g thrugh a cell meeting by recunting the things yu have taught them in cnducting the different types f cell meetings. Put Wrds in Their Muths: Teach them what t say, hw t say it, when t say it, why they are saying what they are saying and what t d when the reactin is nt receptive. This gives them cnfidence as they are better prepared t handle the meeting. As they g thrugh r simulate the cell meeting like this, be very encuraging and applaud their effrts. This gives them cnfidence and bldness which is s vital as that they are ging t be standing in frnt f their peers; smene may laugh r say smething that may make him lse his cmpsure but with yur encuragement like this, the cell leader is mre cnfident. The Hly Spirit is Their Helper: In preparing the children like this, remember t pint ut frm the scriptures that they have a helper in the Hly Ghst. (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:8) Tell the children, they have the Hly Ghst with the fullness f His abilities and with time will learn t minister and act by the aninting f Gd's spirit. The Hly Spirit is a master cmmunicatr and knws hw t cmmunicate with them s that they will understand. As they d this, yu find that they are grwing; grwing in their relatinship and fellwship with the Hly Ghst, grwing in the knwledge f Gd's wrd and grwing as able ministers f the new cvenant. In additin, in teaching them the wrd f Gd, we teach them t cmmunicate Gd's wrd s that thse they are sharing the wrd f Gd with will understand and desire t receive Jesus Christ int their lives.

11 TEACHING CHILDREN HOW TO EVANGELIZE 7 Lets lk at Evangelism. Teach the Children hw t win suls, as they have t grw their cells. Children shuld be taught hw t win suls by simulating different scenaris and what they shuld say, hw they shuld say, what t expect and what they shuld d when the respnse isn't as expected r favrable. Train and rehearse these scenaris with them and get them t memrize what t say at different ccasins as simulated. This has t be a cntinuus exercise. Have regular meetings with them t review their sul winning activities and the results and then encurage them when they dn't get the results they expect but then the seeds have been swn and will definitively yield a harvest in the curse f time. The keys here are t Train, Rehearse until the children becme Perfect with winning suls and evangelizing t their friends and ther peple TEACHING CHILDREN TO PRAY & FOLLOW UP THEIR MEMBERS It is very imprtant that the children are taught the basics f Christian ministry such as praying and fllw up f the members in their cell grups. Teach the children t pray; t pray abut their members. Write the wrds fr them and the wrds t use in prayer fr example a member wh is nt cming t church regularly, wh isn't feeling well and s n Fllw up is anther very imprtant principle the children shuld be taught and trained t carry ut. If a member has missed several services r cell meetings, the cell leader can either call thrugh their parents phne t enquire hw that child is ding. This way, the children are being raised in ministry. They are becming relevant and useful. Beynd the prtectin that the cell system prvides, the cell system is where ministry is develped and the children are nurtured, cared fr and prayed fr. Raising the children like this with this cnsciusness wuld enable them grw int ministers and int peple that care. The apstle Paul said f Timthy in Philippians 2:20 I have n man likeminded wh will naturally care fr the flck even thugh Timthy was a yung man. Remember Paul had earlier admnished him Let n man despise thy yuth. (1 Timthy 4:12)

12 CHILDREN'S CELL OUTREACH MEETINGS 8 rd Accrding t ur cell ministry structure, every 3 week in the mnth is fr Outreach Meetings t win suls r in-reach meetings t further strengthen relatinships amngst cell members. These meetings presents' pprtunities fr the children t reach ut t their peers utside the church walls in their neighbrhds, schls within the catchments areas. Please See Suggested Cell Outreach Opprtunities Or Events Belw; Cell FunDay: The cncept is reaching children with fun The targets fr Fun day utreaches are friends, family members and children in the neighbrhd r catchments where the church is lcated. The church venue is usually the preferred lcatin fr the FunDay Outreaches if yu have a gd size facility with grunds r yu can chse a lcatin that is central t yur church venue. Outdr play equipment, light snacks, beverages are typical elements fr this utreach. Schl Cells r Early Reader Clubs: The Children's Church can build relatinships with schls in the catchment areas and schls where children in the church cell grups attend as ptential utlets fr reaching children and the distributin f children's ministry materials. A sustained strategy is t have children's cells such as Early Reader's Club as utreach arms in the schls. Parents and members f ur children's cell grups in thse schls can be the pints f cntact r in-rute int thse schls After-Service Neighbrhd Rhapsdy f Realities Distributin Outreach The cell grups can g a distributin reach ut with The ROR f Realities fr kids and Early Readers in the neighbrhds arund the church catchments fr 30mins 1 hur after the service n Sundays Church Catchment Children's Evangelism In applicable lcatins, The Cell grups can g n evangelism t targeted lcatins where children r families cngregate such as eateries, fast fd restaurants' and play znes Create New Opprtunities! Lastly, yu can study the pprtunities and even the threats that yur lcatin presets t create pprtunities fr the children t reach ther children beynd the church walls. As the Spirit f Gd has enlightened us this year - Our Year f Spreading; Our ministry and message will spread int every man's wrld and gain the dminance. This includes the wrld r every child in every place n the face f this earth! Halleluiah!

13 SECTION 4: LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN CHILDREN 9 We recgnize that children are in their frmative years and very impressinable and we take great care in ensuring that they are expsed nly t the right materials that will aid their grwth and raise them t be leaders because we understand that; - Every child has the capacity t cntain deity. - Every child has the ability t receive the wrd f Gd - Every child can cultivate a relatinship with the Hly Spirit S we see that children are individual persnalities themselves that have Gd dwelling in them by Hs Spirit Leadership develpment refers t any activity that enhances the quality f leadership within an individual r rganizatin. In ur Ministry, we recgnize that every child have the ptential t becme a leader thus we teach and guide them t becme leaders Hw T Develp Children As Leaders This is by n means an exhaustive list but here are a few pinters t help yu develp children tp becme leaders; 1. Teach them t Pray 2. Teach and train them n hw t use ministry materials particularly The Rhapsdy f Realities Daily Devtinal fr Early Readers 3. Teach them what we believe and d as a ministry like sul sinning,, giving, swing seeds, celebrating ur Man f Gd, Partnership, Speaking in Tngues, laying hands n the sick and see them recver. 4. Teach them abut ur exceptinalism; wh we are! 5. Teach them t be bld and curageus even amngst their peers especially utside the church envirnment GROWING YOUR CHILDRENS CHURCH MEMBERSHIP THROUGH THE CELL SYSTEM Children's church as we have ften reiterated is nt a place where children are kept away s that grwn-ups can have a quiet service in the main church but where ministry is actually carried ut t children with activities and structures fr their spiritual grwth and develpment. As the name implies, the cell even thugh is the smallest rganism has the capacity t multiply itself and grw. This means ur cells in the children's church are suppsed t grw and therefre can cntribute t the numerical grwth f the Children's Church as a whle. Pastr has taught us that Grwth is nt a mystery but the applicatin f revealed principles and means. Grwing ur children's church is pssible and must be planned fr with well-defined strategies t be executed t achieve the desired bjective. Here are a few strategies yu can use;

14 CHILDREN'S OUTREACH PROGRAMS 10 These are Prgrams rganized t reach ut t children and families beynd the church walls, nn-members f church, nn - believers and influencers f children such as children's plicy makers, educatrs and teachers in ur catchments t win them t Christ and the ministry Outreach meetings can take place in the church venue, Children's schl cells r in a safe and cnducive envirnment fr children depending n yur specific bjectives and utreach targets fr the Mnth. Accrding t ur Curriculum structure in the BLW Children's ministry, Our Children's Churches shuld rganize utreaches n a Mnthly basis, which indicates that there, must be numerical grwth and increase mnthly. It is expedient therefre that we prayerfully plan and execute mnthly utreaches t reach ur target audiences as highlighted abve. Pastr has said t us that when we pray we receive ideas and visins frm the Spirit s that we are guided as t what t d and the ability is ministered t execute accrdingly with resultant impact. Here are a few Guidelines in Planning an Outreach Prgram; 1. Ascertain the venue and get apprval frm yur Pastr 2. Ascertain yur target and yur target audiences (fr example, yu want t reach ut t mthers, new mthers, children in primary schls, children in rphanage hmes, children & parents, caregivers and s n) 3. Ascertain the Prgram cntent based n the type f utreach (Is it a dance utreach, musical utreach, etc) 4. Draw up a tentative budget fr the event 5. Develp a wrk schedule and dispatch t all members in yur team with specific tasks and timelines fr deliverables clearly utlined. 6. Send a frmal ntificatin t parents f the utreach event fr their participatin financially, bringing their children fr rehearsals and t the event itself as well as invite ther children t attend. 7. Make prvisin fr children's ministry materials fr new cnverts (Rhapsdy f Realities fr Kids and Early Readers, Nw that yu are brn again fr kids, Faith cnfessins fr Early Readers, etc) 8. Make prvisins t capture data f attendees particularly fr new cnverts and first timers fr pst prgram fllw up 9. Fllw up each attendee with the intent t have them established as members f ur ministry and yur children's church
