Therefore, we respectfully request that, for the sake of everyone, we leave the temperature as it is set. Thank you for your cooperation! SPIRITS OF PRAISE TRIP Thursday, July 20 Day trip to the Biblical History Center in LaGrange, GA. You can review their website at: about/. The cost is $40 which includes fuel costs, admission to the Archeological Replica tour, the Biblical Life Artifacts Gallery and the Biblical meal. We will leave FBC at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 20. Our meal time is noon, Georgia time, with the tour to follow after lunch. We will leave LaGrange to return about 4:00 p.m. Georgia time. A supper stop is optional if the group elects. Please reserve your spot no later than Wednesday, July 12, by contacting Polly or Doug, not the Church office. July 19, Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. FBC Cookout~Staff Cook and Serve. The menu will be hamburgers and hotdogs. Make plans to eat your dinner at the church and attend Choir Rehearsal or a Bible Study. CHURCH WORK DAY Saturday, July 22 8:00 a.m. There are projects inside and outside the building. Bring your tools and help us spruce up around the facility!

4 OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD July collection items are shorts, t-shirts, flip-flops, sunglasses, sun hats, etc. You may place your items in the donation area by the office. ALMS COMMITTEE The ALMS Fund was established many years ago to give financial assistance to members of FBC in times of need. Over the last few months we have assisted several families which was made possible by the generous support of our loving church family. If you would like to help replenish this fund, you may do so by designating a gift to the ALMS Fund on your offering envelope. FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT Sunday, July 16, 6:00 p.m. Your family is invited to see The Case For Christ. This exciting movie will be shown in the fellowship hall. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. Childcare and children s activities will be provided. Below is a description of the movie. 5 Something To Ponder About Prayer For nearly two decades, Warren Buffett has availed himself to have lunch with the highest bidder in Glide s annual charity fund-raiser. The 2017 highest bidder plopped down $2.6 million to join the 86-year-old Buffett at New York s Smith & Wollensky steakhouse. Thankfully, the anonymous bidder can bring seven friends along for that price. And the winner should be grateful for the bargain; last year s winner spent $3.4 million for the same meal. All in all, Buffett s lunch dates have garnered more than $26 million for antipoverty causes since the event started in I d love to be one of the winner s seven friends, or even the waiter who should mop up on a rather hefty tip, but it s doubtful that meal-deal will produce enough insider information to cover the tab. Each day we can do something infinitely greater and don t even have to bid on ebay for the privilege. The King of kings and Lord of lords invites us to His banqueting table for a 24/7 buffet of divine presence. It honestly seems a bit foolish to spend millions to eat with a billionaire, but it s far more foolish to neglect a standing invitation to spend time with our Creator who owns it all. Sunday School Class If you are not involved in a Sunday School class, join the class I teach. We have just begun a new study entitled, Escape The Coming Night by Dr. David Jeremiah. There are numerous projects we are wanting to accomplish inside and outside of the church. We will begin at 8:00 a.m. If you cannot come on this day and are willing to assist in maintaining the building and grounds, call the church office and an assignment will be given to you. To give an offering is to give above our tithe to support other ministry endeavors not completely covered in the general fund of our church. Here at FBCO, we have numerous designated funds to which we can all contribute during the course of a year. During the months of June and July we will place emphasis on the Child Development Center Equipment/Playground Fund and the Alabama Baptist Children s Homes and Family Ministries.
