Sunday, March 26, 2017 Today we welcome the team from Capernwray Harbour on Thetis Island. They will be leading music and Jeffrey from their team will be speaking Part 5: Can We Be Sure of Our Teachers? (I John 2:18-27) With Jeffrey from Capernwray Today in SBC Kids: S B C K I D S Nursery: Birth 30 months: Room #32 (top floor) 11:00 am 2 year old class (Cubby Room-Middle Floor) 9:00 am & 11:00 am Preschool & Elementary: Parents, please sign in your children at the kiosk in the foyer. They will be dismissed from the sanctuary with their leaders. All the kids will be in the Gym today and next Sunday. Please pick your children up promptly in the Gym after the service is dismissed. Note! No Children s Handbell Choir this week!

This week we will focus on: Ed & Christy Tiessen (Megan, Ashley) John & Brenda Timmer Quentin Timmer We also want to uplift our church s ministries in prayer. This week we will focus our prayers on: Mexico Missions Team 40 people (11 adults, 6 young adults and 23 youth) from SBC left yesterday for San Quentin, Mexico. Please pray for safety, great ministry opportunities and for open hearts for our team members and all the people whose lives they touch this week. George Witte, Vicki Rogall, & Hans Vandewater (cancer). Sheila Johnson, Barbara McKelvie, Emily Holden, Sandi Riemer, Shirley Bige, Melinda Tamminga, John Stiopu, Noreen Williams, Al McRae, Gordon Faasse, Frieda Kuypers, Angie Selles, Isabel Ferguson, Pat Johnston & Tammy Van Delft (difficult health concerns). Our Pastors Pastor Larry is preaching this morning at First Baptist Church in Penticton, Pastor Del is with the Hope Road Gospel Choir at Summerland United Church and Pastor Lee is in Mexico. After today, Pastor Jack will be on vacation until April 1.

Food Matters There are lots of opportunities to serve with the food and meals that bring us together: setup, dishes, food preparation, décor etc.

3 Prayer Day Join us on Saturday, April 1 for 12 hours of continual prayer (7 am - 7 pm). You may choose to pray at the church or at home. Sign up in the church foyer this morning. 4 For details, schedules and registration, please visit Summer Camp Sponsorships Our SBC Deacons can provide financial assistance for children who would otherwise not be able to attend a Bible-based summer camp. Sponsorship is available for Camp Tulahead or any other Bible-based Christian camp. Application forms are available from our Deacons, church office and are also in the foyer. They will still yield fruit in old age (Ps. 92:12-15) We have an active group of seniors who meet regularly for encouragement, support and fellowship. As a church, we are always looking for ways to encourage married couples to set aside time to focus on each other. We are bringing back the Date Night Blog Challenge!

5 As a church, we are always looking for ways to encourage married couples to set aside time to focus on each other. We are bringing back the Date Night Blog Challenge! Up to 12 couples will be given a budget of $25 (provided by SBC) to come up with a creative and fun date night. Each participating couple commits to: o staying within the $25 budget on their date o submitting a blog post that documents their date (including at least one photo). The date must be completed and blog post submitted by April 30. Blog entries will be posted on our SBC Blog in May and June. After all entries have been posted, viewers will have the opportunity to vote on their favourite date night. The couple receiving the most votes will receive a one-night stay at the Summerland Waterfront Resort and a $75 dinner gift card at the restaurant of their choice. Couples of all ages are encouraged to participate! If required, a childcare subsidy for the date night will be available for parents with young children. Apply online at summerlandbaptist.ca. The first 12 couples will be selected on a first come, first served basis.

Church Work Day Saturday April 8 Starting at 8:00 am Many jobs need to be completed in our church building. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.
