6 A Yeshiva is a מקום קדוש therefore the proper צניעות for EVERYONE entering the building is mandatory. Please take necessary precautions if you are sending a caregiver to either bring or pickup your child from school. Please note: If there are doubts whether any item of clothing or footwear is acceptable, please be in contact with the Hanhala before purchasing, as students will not be allowed to wear items deemed inappropriate. Please have your son wear clothes that are solid in color or simple design. All shirts must have collars. Clothing with advertisements, slogans, or large lettering may NOT be worn. Crocs are not permitted. Tight-fitting pants should NOT be worn. Ankle socks are NOT permitted. Grades 6-8 o Dark pants and dark shoes/sneakers must be worn by boys in grades 6-8. o Boys in grades 6-8 must wear white button down shirts. CARPOOL PROTOCOL Safe drop-off and pick-up of our children is a primary concern. We cannot be overly cautious in this area of safety. To do our part of ensuring the safety of our children, please adhere to the following guidelines: All cars must be in park positions before dropping off or picking up children. [6]

7 Children must enter and exit cars only from the passenger side. The speed limit in the carpool driveway is 5 mph. We will be sending out further correspondence as to how to drop off and pick up for the school year. PUNCTUALITY & ATTENDANCE Punctuality is very important to the success of your child. Please realize that a student who walks in late disturbs the entire class. If your child is late, please give him a note explaining the reason for his lateness. In the event that your son will be arriving more than half an hour late to school (i.e. appointment, bris) or absent from school (i.e. sick, out of town, or simcha) please notify us by leaving a message. Any absences, other than illness, must be discussed with the Menahel in advance. SAFETY Hard balls and metal bats may NOT be used at school. Soft balls and wooden bats may only be used by students in Grades 6-8. DISMISSING YOUR CHILD EARLY We strongly urge that all appointments be scheduled outside of school hours or during vacation breaks. Rebbeim/Teachers are instructed not to permit students to leave school unless they receive notification from the office. Dismissal notes must be signed by a parent. [7]

8 Any students leaving school before dismissal must sign out at the front office. This is necessary so that the school should be of the student s whereabouts. Your cooperation in these matters is greatly appreciated. SCHOOL VISITS During school hours, parents and visitors may not go beyond the front office unless given permission by the Hanhala. This includes all school grounds. FOOD A healthy snack and lunch are essential to your son s performance throughout the day. Lunches/snacks should be sent with your son in the morning. We ask that you have lunches/snacks dropped off before 10:30. MOTHERS ASSOCIATION will be sending out further correspondence regarding hot lunch program. All products must be Pas Yisroel and all dairy products must be Cholov Yisroel. Hot instant soups are not allowed in Pre1A-grade 5. NUT- FREE POLICY YYH has a nut-free policy. Please ensure that all food brought into the school building is free from any nut-based ingredients. Anything distributed to the whole class must be made in a nut-free facility. No home baked goods are allowed to be given out in class. Please notify anyone who is preparing your child s lunch/snack of this policy. [8]

9 GAMES & ELECTRONIC DEVICES All electronic devices, sports cards, and regular decks of cards are not permitted in the yeshiva. HOMEWORK לימוד subjects is necessary for growth in לימודי קודש in חזרה Consistent.התורה All homework is a reinforcement of the day s learning as well as preparation for the next day. It is a parent s responsibility to be sure that each child completes his assignments.
