The Burnt Offering: is the only offering completely dedicated to God. Symbolizing a complete and total surrender to God. The word Olah meant to rise. No one was allowed to eat from it. The Grain offering points toward the concept of the altar as God s table. A shared meal with God. A small memorial portion was placed on the altar for the Lord and the rest was given to the priest for food. It was considered the bread of life. The Peace (Shalem) Offering: Like the burnt and grain offerings they were voluntary. The burnt offering is completely consumed. The grain offering is shared between the priest and God. But the peace offering is the only one shared by all three: the one offering it, the priests and God. It is meant to celebrate the covenant. The Sin (Chatah) Offering/ Purification: This one is mandatory. Meant not to celebrate the covenant but to repair the covenant or restore fellowship. This offering was not for intentional sins!!! Leviticus 4:2 Speak to the sons of Israel, saying: If a soul shall sin (Chatah) through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do any one of them, Hebrews 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. The Guilt (Asham)Offering: Restitution of damages done to someone else that required a monetary payment to them and then the asham offering is made to God. You damaged a car unintentionally. Though we make it right with our fellow we can never repay God. James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Please dress modestly so as to not be a distraction to others, and dress your best to honor God, and in respect of the Sabbath. We believe God s Presence is with us. Please observe quietness in conversation in the Sanctuary especially during our Worship times in respect to others. ONEG (Potluck Lunch) It has been a long standing tradition at El Shaddai Ministries to fellowship together after the service and share a meal together. We hold ONEG every 2 nd and 4 th Saturday. People are blessed to be able to eat together and share the Word and meet new people. If you are blessed to be able to bring a dish, please observe Biblically clean foods, i.e. avoid pork dishes, shellfish, or gelatin products. Please bring fresh cooked dishes and not leftovers if possible. Also after ONEG make sure to bring your dishes and utensils home. If there is any question as to these standards please discuss with the Pastors or Zaken in the Guest Pavilion after the service.
