1 Leviticus Study Questions The Book of Leviticus sets down all of the rituals and conduct of the Levitical priests. It is a book that is rather difficult for some to deal with because it contains so much minutia pertaining to regulations of sacrifice and cleanliness. For the purposes of this study, the questions pertaining to the Book of Leviticus will be divided up into three segments of nine chapters each. These questions are to help guide your study and are not intended to be answered. LEVITICUS 1 1. What are the Lord's instructions regarding the offering, and why does it specify where the cattle are to come from? (Leviticus 1:1-2) 2. What other specifications are made about the offering? (Leviticus 1:3-9) 3. What kind of offering or sacrifice is this? (Leviticus 1:3-9) 4. Where is the offering of a sheep or a goat to be killed and why? (Leviticus 1:10-11) 5. What is to be done with the offering of birds and why? (Leviticus 1:14-17) LEVITICUS 2 1. What are the specifications pertaining to the cereal offering, and what is the reason for them? (Leviticus 2:1-10) 2. Why is there a proscription against leavening or honey being in a cereal offering? (Leviticus 2:11) 3. Why aren't the offerings of the first fruits not to be offered as a pleasing odor to the Lord? (Leviticus 2:12) 4. Why is the cereal offering to be seasoned with the salt of the covenant, and what is the salt of the covenant? (Leviticus 2:13) 5. What is to be an offering by fire to the Lord? (Leviticus 2:14-16) LEVITICUS 3 1. What is to constitute a peace offering, and how is it to be prepared and offered? (Leviticus 3:1-17) 2. What is to be done with the blood? (Leviticus 3:2, 8, 13)

What is to be done with the animal's blood and why? (Leviticus 4:5-7) 5. What is to be done with everything on the bull except its fat, liver and kidneys, and why? (Leviticus 4:11-12) 6. By what term are the people of Israel referred in Leviticus 4:13? 7. What does the term mean, and why is it used here? (Leviticus 4:13) 8. How does it differ from the way it was used in Exodus (Exodus 17:1), (Exodus 35:1, 4, 20) 9. What happens if the Congregation of Israel commits sin, and why? (Leviticus 4:13-21) 10. What is to happen if a ruler sins, and what is different from the sin offering for the priest and the congregation? (Leviticus 4:22-26) (Leviticus 4:3-12) (Leviticus 4:13-21) 11. What is peculiar about this particular provision? (Leviticus 4:22) 11. What is to be the sin offering for the common man, and how is it different or similar to the previous three sin offerings? (Leviticus 4:27-31) (Leviticus 4:3-12) (Leviticus 4:13-21) (Leviticus 4:22-26) 12. What alternative animal can the common man offer instead of a goat, what is to be the sex of the animal and why? How is a person to atone if he or she has no lamb, and what happened to the goat? (Leviticus 5:7-10) 6. What is the person to do if he or she can't afford turtle doves or pigeons? (Leviticus 5: 11-13) 7. What is to be done if anyone commits a breach of faith, what does this mean? (Leviticus 5:14-16) 8. What is to be the value of the offering, and why? (Leviticus 5:15) 9. What is the sinner to do further, and why? (Leviticus 5:16) 10. What further instructions are given for those who commit sin unknowingly? (Leviticus 5:17-19) 11. How does the sinner find out that he or she has sinned in any of the instances cited? LEVITICUS 6 1. What commandments do Leviticus 6:1-5 pertain to? 2. How is the person to atone for these transgressions? (Leviticus 6:5-7) 3. How is the transgressor to value the offering and why? (Leviticus 6:6) 4. How long does the Lord command that the burnt offering is to remain on the hearth? (Leviticus 6:8-9) 5. What is the priest to do before placing the ashes beside the altar? (Leviticus 6:10) 6. What is the priest to do before carrying the ashes outside the camp? (Leviticus 6:11) 7. What is the Lord's command regarding the fire on the altar? (Leviticus 6:12-13) 8. is there any correlation between this and anything done in the sanctuary today?

(Leviticus 6:19-23) 16. Where is the sin offering to be killed and eaten, and why? (Leviticus 6:24-26) 17. What happens to anything which touches the flesh of the sin offering? (Leviticus 6:27) 18. Where is any garment sprinkled with the blood of the sin offering to be washed and why? (Leviticus 6:27) 19. What is to be done with an earthen vessel in which the sin offering is boiled, and why? (Leviticus 6:28) 20. What is to be done with a bronze vessel in which the sin offering is boiled, and why? (Leviticus 6:28) 21. Who may eat the sin offering, and why? (Leviticus 6:29) 22. What is the proscription pertaining to eating the sin offering from which blood is brought into the tent of meeting, and why? (Leviticus 6:30) 23.
