It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: (KJV) Isaiah 40:25-27 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God? 2

(KJV) Deuteronomy 4:4 But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day. 1. Through studying Torah His words God told us about Himself and reveals Himself within the Torah. As we study the Torah we begin to cleave to God. It is like reading a love letter sent to you from someone you love. 2. Through Prayer The simple meaning of prayer is that we are speaking to God, intimately from the depths of our heart. Prayer can be a very private and intimate time, drawing us closer to God. Allowing us to cleave even more to Him. I read recently God 3

4 created humans because He loves stories. God is all about telling us stories, His creation of the world, all the stories of the people from history past. The deepest depths of closeness to God is when you begin to tell God your story. Allowing God and yourself to tell each other stories. Abraham was a friend of God and when people tell each other stories they become friends. 3. Doing the commandments The third level of connection, which in some ways is the most powerful, is that of the mitzvot. The word mitzvah is usually translated as "command"; but it also means "connection" (relating to an Aramaic word tzavta, meaning "connection"). Carrying out a mitzvah means that we are connected to and bonded with God. (KJV) Romans 12:1,2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God metamorfow metamorphoo, to transform "metamorphose"):--change, transfigure, transform. (KJV) Deuteronomy 4:5-8 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely, this great nation is a wise and understanding people. For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day? (KJV) Deuteronomy 4:30,31 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them. Deuteronomy 5:4-21 (KJV) Deuteronomy 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children forever! (HNV) Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the holy ones, those who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Yeshua. 4

5 (HNV) Deuteronomy 6:4-6 Hear, Israel: the LORD is our God; the LORD is one: and you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. These words, which I command you this day, shall be on your heart; (KJV) Jeremiah 31:31-33 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. (HNV) Deuteronomy 6:7-9 and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for symbols between your eyes. You shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates. (KJV) Psalm 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. (KJV) Psalm 118:19-21 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD: This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter. I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. (KJV) Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; (KJV) Acts 6:7,8 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. (HNV) Acts 6:11-14 Then they secretly induced men to say, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God. They stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, and came against him and seized him, and brought him in to the council, and set up false witnesses who said, This man never stops speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the Torah. For we have heard him say that this Yeshua of Nazareth will destroy this place, and will change the customs which Moses delivered to us. 5

6 Best Practices Thank you for joining us today at El Shaddai Ministries! In order to bless and protect our congregation, we have put some guidelines in place and ask those attending to observe these to the best of their ability. Please return promptly to you seats after the break and quietly Please turn cell phone off or set to vibrate Parents please monitor your children and keep them from roaming the hallways or lobby area. They should be in class or seated with you. At the close of the service please take your items, i.e. notes etc. to respect the cleanliness of the Sanctuary. Please return any unmarked notes you do not wish to keep to the box at the back table. Please dress modestly so as to not be a distraction to others, and dress your best to honor God, and in respect of the Sabbath. *Dancers: If pants are worn they must be modest and loose fitting, leggings are not acceptable. Skirts must be mid-calf and loose fitting. Please wear modest necklines and make sure shoulders are covered. ONEG (Potluck Lunch) It has been a long standing tradition at El Shaddai Ministries to fellowship together after the service every 2 nd Saturday by sharing a meal. El Shaddai Ministries provides all the beverages for the break and oneg. Please do not add items to the table. If you are blessed to be able to bring a dish for oneg, please observe the following guidelines: All items must be checked in with the oneg staff. Items not checked in will not be served. All items must be marked with your name and phone number. Only bring Biblically clean foods, i.e. NO pork, shellfish, or gelatin products. Please bring fresh cooked dishes and not leftovers. Packaged food must be unopened. Also after ONEG make sure to take your dishes and utensils home. If there is any question as to these standards please discuss with the Zakens after the service. We ask that you let seniors; first time visitors and those with mobility issues go first in line. Parents of small children please help your child with their plates. Also PLEASE be courteous in the ONEG line and be observant of those around you, so others may get a generous helping of food as well. THANK YOU AND ENJOY THE FELLOWSHIP! 9
