This service will be celebrated with Our Lady of the Rosary Parish and will be held in Spanish Lake at their parish church. That night our community will also be celebrating the First Reconciliation of children from our parish. The number of students is small, but I know they and their parents would be greatly encouraged by the presence of as many parish members that night as possible. We all need this encounter with the mercy and forgiveness of Christ so that every member young and old might all the more reflect the love of Christ in our world every day. YOU WILL WANT TO NOTE AND TELL OTHERS about the schedule for Masses on Christmas. An error appeared in the Parish Calendar published in last week s bulletin. Christmas Eve Mass (December 24th) will be at 4:30pm with our Children s Choir Concert at 4:00pm. On Christmas Day (December 25th) there will be only one Mass at 10:00am with our Adult Choir Concert at 9:30am. We apologize for any confusion. CONGRATULATIONS TO JULIANA MOODE for her winning essay on Stewardship and the Annual Catholic Appeal. Juliana attends Rosati-Kain High School and has received a scholarship from the ACA for her excellent work. She found great meaning and power in the simple words of the ACA annual logo, Serving Others. She writes, These words represent an action that should come naturally to all Catholics, but unfortunately, doesn t always. The ACA makes up for that difference, fills in the empty space left by those who don t realize that being catholic doesn t just mean going to church the ACA illustrates everything that it takes to be a true and faithful catholic. She imagines the ACA starting a chain reaction by helping my church, my church is able to help those in my community. Juliana is an altar server in our parish. Here and at home she has learned about stewardship as giving back to God, but also that this giving back is totally up to our own decision. Serving has played an important role in her formation. being so close to the place where Jesus ultimate sacrifice is made really helps me focus on what s important during Mass. It helps me to understand Jesus sacrifice was in itself a great act of stewardship. He gave his life back to God. Continuing Through January 2016 STEWARDSHIP RENEWAL CAMPAIGN REPORT The Season of Advent begins a new Year of Faith. A faith alive in our parish members. A faith evident in the generosity of our parish community well aware of how blessed we are! Our Stewardship Renewal Campaign has resulted in stronger financial support for our parish. As of November 30th 147 parish families/households have responded with an increase in their parish support. This represents $1,147 combined pledged weekly increase in our Sunday collection and a $7.80 increase in weekly offerings per family. Our parish leaders and members continue to work together to create and sustain a community of belonging committed to our parish members and to all who live in our neighborhoods. The gift of each person s time, the richness of every person s experience and talents, and the generous financial support of our members all work together to make our mission the mission of Christ real, here and now! Thank you for giving of yourself for the life and welfare of our parish. You are an encouragement for me and for our entire parish staff!

Here are a few suggestions: Park in a well-lit area Remember to lock your vehicle. Minimize the number of valuables left in your vehicle. Keep valuables, electronics, and other theft attractors out of sight. The trunk is a good place. Have your keys out and ready when you return to your vehicle. Lock purse and other valuables in your trunk PRIOR to arriving at the shopping center. Stay ALERT! Trust your instincts. Shop with a friend. Do not leave the store alone. Keep your cell phone on your person. Make sure someone know where you are going and when you will return. Don t overburden yourself with packages while shopping. Only make online purchases from trusted, secure websites. Look for https in the web address to verify security. Don t carry large amounts of cash or extra credit cards. Never leave your purse, wallet or cell phone unattended in a public place. If you carry a purse, carry it close to your body. -AAA And above all, be sure to keep some time for reflection and prayer. Christ Light of the Nations School Christmas Program Thursday, December 17 7:00PM Trinity High School Please join us! Christ Light of the Nations prides itself on putting together an elaborate and enthusiastic Christmas Program each year. Last year the students excelled with a comedic musical helping Santa figure out his Christmas playlist, but this year we take a step into the equally comedic but faith-filled musical called " Play in a Manger". The musical starts out emphasizing the glitz and glam the Christmas season has brought, a Hollywood director taking the humble Christmas story and making it something more exciting than ever before. However, things begin to go wrong as the Christmas Super Nova explodes early, the dancing camels are white and tan instead of brown, the two story manger isn't big enough, and the sky-diving celebrity angels can't see through the cloud cover for a safe landing. We wade through the season's commercialized details to get to the truly important reason for the season: "The Heart of the Story". Each song and scene whittles down all the extra to get to the simple, important meaning of the Christmas season.
