4 Page 4 Minnesota South District Women On A Mission Fall, 2014 Issue PRINTED: September, 2014 Greetings from Counselor Mundahl [Jesus] said to them: You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:7a, 8 Part of the accent of the 2014 District Convention was on the P I N G program designed to help the women of the Church be Prepared - Inspired - Nourished - and then to Go out into our world and be witnesses for Christ Jesus. The Pastoral Counselors laid the Biblical foundation during the Christian Life Day. The next step is our Women's Inspirational Leadership Conference designed for every woman of your society. [It is NOT just for the leaders] By attending one of the two Saturdays scheduled each person will learn to apply these truths to their daily life. Be sure to register for either of the two conferences, on... October 4, :00 am to 3:00 pm. or October 11, :00 am to 3:00 pm. Please take note that these Conferences are being held at the Hosanna Highland Campus setting and not at Hosanna Lutheran Church. The address is 329 Ellis Ave near the Minnesota State University - Mankato Campus proper. The presenters will include key women of the District who have received special training in P I N G and its application. Being witnesses for Jesus, in our world today, is never an easy thing. As we are encouraged by the Word may the Spirit guide us into all things that are pleasing in God's sight. Use these Conferences to sharpen your talents and to learn new ways of fulfilling your LWML pledge: We consecrate to our Savior our hands to work for Him, our feet to go on His errands, our voice to sing His praises, our lips to proclaim His redeeming love, our silver and our gold to extend His Kingdom, our will to do His will, and every power of our life to the great task of bringing the lost and the erring into eternal fellowship with Him. Amen. Counselor Mundahl A Message from Gospel Outreach. Grace and peace from God our Father. Some of you may know me as the Bus Lady from our fun and adventurous bus trip to the 2013 LWML National Convention in Pittsburgh. I am honored and blessed now to be your new VP of Gospel Outreach for MN South LWML. I am looking forward to serving and working with many of you. Just a little introduction about myself that I am a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Waconia. I am presently serving on the Leader Development Committee of the National LWML. I encourage you to check out the new resources that have become available on the LWML website for your societies to use. MN South LWML was blessed to receive $28, in mites. We were able to pay the grant to Mission Central Funding Missionaries and Support for Church Planters/Vicars, India for $20, in full. Please note the change to MN South LWML Financial Secretary name and address. Mail your Mites and Mission Grants Donation to Joann Rosenfeld, LWML Distrist Financial Secretary, th St., Arlingotn, MN I ask that you continue to pray that the Holy Spirit will move your societies for their continued support to meet our Biennium Mission Grant Goal of $260,000 with your mites. I ask that you will continue to pray for our LWML leaders that God will give us wisdom and direct and guide us that we may reach out to others with God's message of Salvation to All. But how are they to call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news! Romans 10:14-15 Serving for Christ, Deb Vinkemeier, VP of Gospel Outreach MN South LWML

5 Page 5 Minnesota South District Women On A Mission Fall, 2014 Issue PRINTED: September, 2014 TRANSITION As is stated in Ecclesiastes 3, For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven, is certainly true as we move from one biennium to another in LWML. Some things remain the same, but others change. Officers change which mean materials, information, and notebooks(3) were transferred from the outgoing officer to the newly elected person. This was also true for all other positions in the LWML MNS District where there is a change in personnel. On a personal note, some papers were no longer needed and therefore were recycled. Thank you everyone for all the prayers, assistance, fellowship, and so on which were done during the past four years. It was greatly appreciated. Mite goals and mission grants were voted on at the 2012 district convention for the biennium. The goals were met and currently all mission grants have been paid. Praise the Lord. At the 2014 convention the mite goal was set at $260,000 as well as new mission grants were voted on. All of these with the Lord at our side will also be met this biennium. Think of how you can, when most society meetings again start in September, as an individual contribute as though you had met all summer. Maybe split your normal monthly contribution from the summer over the next few months. We were able to reach the goal without an extra push in 2014, plan to do it again for God will provide. Pray for your continuing officers and for your new incoming officers, as well as all appointed personnel and zone officers. Don t forget all of your LWML counselors, both on the district and zone levels. Without them to guide us spiritually, the LWML would not be the same type of organization which we have that is based on God s Word. God has provided all these individuals to serve us and we are to support them in all ways possible. Looking at the LWML object of Mission Education, Mission Inspiration, and Mission Service. How you can carry them out? One way would be to attend either the October 4 or October 11 Inspirational Women s Leadership Workshop at Hosanna Highland Campus in Mankato. These workshops are for all women in the pew, not just those in current leadership positions. Both sessions will be identical. It will build on the Bible studies which were held on Christian Life Day on June 20. You will learn how to apply those Bible studies to you as an individual. You also will be assisted in how to Go and tell the Word after you have been Prepared, Inspired, and Nourished. Look in your convention packet for the registration form from the convention. If you were not able to attend the convention, go to and find the information. Through all of these things remember we all have God-given talents, how are you using them? You need to use them and work on these God-given gifts. The Holy Spirit will continue to build you up in the faith as you stay in the Word. Stick with what you ve already learned, continue to grow in God s grace, and see where He ll lead you. Go where He leads you. You are being transitioned or transformed into a more vibrant worker for the Lord. God s every blessing to you as you continue to Serve the Lord with Gladness. In Jesus Name, Your Sister in Christ, Darleen A. Harens, LWML Minnesota South District Outgoing President Smiles for Infants and Little Girls The 2014 District Convention is now history! As your Human Care Vice President, I was shocked and overwhelmed at the response to the Gifts from the Heart Ingathering. All I can say is a sincere thank you to all. Never did I imagine we would have 3,376 pillowcase dresses made and 792 baby layettes collected to donate to the Orphan Grain Train in Norfolk, Nebraska. To God be the Glory! Serving the Lord with Gladness, Jan Pfeifer Vice President of Human Care
