P: In the name of the Son C: Who has redeemed us, lost and condemned creatures not with silver or gold but with His precious blood and innocent suffering and death. P: In the name of the Holy Spirit C: Who has called us by the Gospel, enlightened us with His gifts, keeps us holy and in one true faith. Amen. CONFESSION and ABSOLUTION P: Dear friends, let us be honest with God, with each other, and with ourselves and confess our sins in order that we might receive the forgiveness of God and experience the full joy of communion with Jesus Christ. All: Lord, we have sinned by what we have thought, said, and done. We continue to pull away from You even though You love us with an everlasting love. As we come before You in our worship, we recognize our failures and weaknesses. We come before You in need of your forgiveness and your power to overcome sin. Silent Reflection P: The Lord is merciful, slow to anger, and full of unfailing love. He will never abandon us. He has carved our names on the palm of His hand. As we have confessed our sins to God our Father, He has heard and removed them. That is His promise of love and forgiveness to us. SHARING of PEACE 1

Upon what faith shall we stand? Upon what hope can we keep on trusting? All: The One true faith! For we believe in God the Father Almighty, who created all things. We believe in Jesus Christ His Son, who died for our sins and rose from the grave giving us the promise of eternal life. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life! He calls us, gathers us from the ends of the earth, works in us this one true faith, that we may live as Kingdom people and share our faith with others. We stand firm on this faith, confident in our belief, for our God is faithful. Amen and Amen. 5 Praise Team Open Rehearsal is Monday, October 19 th from 6:30 8:00 P.M. Come share your talents & see what Praise Team is all about. We are looking for singers who can read music & instruments of all kinds: drums, bass guitar, guitar, keyboards & synthesizer players. Zion Lutheran School, Seymour, is seeking candidates for Principal to administer and coordinate all early childhood programs. Carmel Lutheran to host prominent concert by internationally-known musicians - On Saturday, October 31, at 7 p.m., Carmel Lutheran Church (4850 E. Main St., Carmel), in cooperation with the German Cultural Society of Indianapolis, is sponsoring a FREE international concert featuring an award-winning jazz duo from Germany. This concert, a Musical Celebration of Luther s Homeland, will be performed by the duo Spiritual Standards renowned German jazz instrumentalists Markus Burger on piano and Jan von Klewitz on saxophone. They have sold out shows in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France, Poland, and more, and this will be their only concert in the Indianapolis area. Burger & Klewitz blend modern improvisation with the art of interpreting baroque music while remaining true to the music s original integrity. They were the winners of the coveted Bach Award from the City of Erfurt for their innovative interpretation of some of Bach s most notable works. They also hold the distinguished honor to have been selected as musical ambassadors for the Luther Decade, a 10-year celebration by the German State of Saxony-Anhalt, designed to mark the 500 th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation, an event expected to draw millions to Luther Country in 2017 and beyond. This concert is in celebration of the upcoming 500 th anniversary of the Reformation (in 2017). Registration for this free concert is not required but encouraged. Go to visitluther.com/carmel. Trinity Lutheran High School s annual musical is back for another season. This year the students will be performing the beloved Lerner and Loewe musical My Fair Lady from Thursday, November 5, through Sunday, November 8. Performances begin at 7:00 P.M. each evening with an additional matinee performance on Sunday at 3:00 P.M. Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased through the school office in person at 7120 N. County Rd. 875 E. in Seymour or ordered by phone at St. Peter s, Waymansville Fish Fry is October 18, 2015 from 4:00 7:00 p.m. see flyer on bulletin board for more info. Trinity Lutheran High School is having their annual fruit sale from October 12 th November 11 th. New Products include cheesecakes and pineapples. See a Trinity FFA student or go online at 4

6 Butter Braids - Help support the Trinity English Expedition group and sign up for a tasty treat at the same time! Students and adults planning on traveling to England in 2016 will be selling Butter Braids from October 19 through November 9. Each pastry costs $13 or $14 and makes a yummy dessert or breakfast for an entire family. Be sure to look for our travelers selling these treats this month or contact the office to place your order! Lend your singing talents to the community choir singing at the Reformation Rally at Trinity Lutheran High School on October 25. Anyone who wishes to join is welcome to the only rehearsal at 4:00 p.m. on October 25 in the school gymnasium. The choir will sing God Is Our Refuge and Strength and Thy Strong Word accompanied by a brass choir. You are invited to the Jackson County Mission Federation Reformation Rally at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25 at the Trinity Lutheran High School Gymnasium. The speaker will be Dr. James G. Busher, Assistant Professor of Historical Theology at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne. Before the Rally the FFA of TLHS will provide a pork burger meal and tours of the Agriculture Building at 5:30. Student Ambassadors will also provide tours of the school building beginning at 6:00. Refreshments will be served following. A free will offering will support the Concordia Lutheran Seminary Adopt-A-Student Program and Trinity Lutheran High School Student Aid. For questions, call A Prayer Group is now available immediately following worship at the front of the sanctuary. If you have anything that you would like to bring forward to cover in prayer or just feel the need to meet with God please come to the altar and pray with friends that want to pray with you. If you would like to help lead prayers please join us as well. And as always we ask that you keep Peace and all its ministries in your prayers! 7 Youth & Family Life Peace Sr. Youth and Parents: the early bird registration for the National LCMS Youth Gathering is now. If you are 8th grade or older, please be prayerfully considering if you intend to attend this awesome event. Family Information is now available by asking Dennis Bowers for details. Fundraising hours are now being applied for students accounts to help defray family costs of this awesome youth conference! So don t miss out on your funding events! Foundations for the Family please remember to pick up your modules at church on Sunday mornings. If you are not at church, please call Pastor Scott or Terri to make other arrangements. Sermon Notes are on the west bulletin boards, grab those before worship! The required Creed Mini Retreat is scheduled for Sunday, October 25 at 1pm. Junk Revolution (rummage sale) was a success. Thank you to all who donated and helped set up, sell and organize! Bible Blessing for 2 nd grade youth Sunday, October 25. Celebrate the milestone of our young readers & introducing them to the Word of God, we invite parents to pick a personal Bible, full version, just for your child. Write a special note inside the cover & wrap it. During worship Bibles will be presented with a blessing for each family. We will continue the celebration with an ice cream social following worship for everyone. If your youth is older than 2nd grade & missed this opportunity last year or has never received a full version Bible before please feel free to celebrate this year. Healthy You! Body & Soul continues each Thursday at 6:30-8 pm. Join us for a variety of exercise classes, walks or bike rides & prayer time. Body, mind and spirit building at its best. 6
