4 FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK A little while ago read a news profile about a woman who was the senior editor for a new dictionary. The reporter asked her: "What is your favorite word?" "Home" she said. "My favorite word is 'horne." One of my favorite words is "alleluia." love the way it sounds- open and clear even when pronounced by a sleepy congregation at the earliest Mass on Easter morning. A Hebrew word for a praise joy and thanks "alleluia" probably conveys every positive emotion we could express to God. Today's Scripture readings are filled with hope and joy and the liturgy itself is loaded with alleluias. For us they add much delight and simple gladness to a celebration that might otherwise be overwhelmingly awesome. The Father has accepted His Son's sacrifice. The Resurrection assures us of that and now sin fear and death have been conquered. The gift of eternal life and happiness is ours to receive. And so we sing or say: "Alleluia!" We share in Christ's victory by our faithful by our clinging to Our Lord through t is the holiest and most joyful day of the year!! obedience to the Church and all of her teachings His word and sacraments and so live and share our faith by our devoted care to our families by our respect for all human life from conception to natural death and by our humble and generous love of others especially those in need. Years ago a priest friend of mine received an Easter card from a friend of his. ts message still remember. t read something like this: Despite all the suffering trials and nonsense of life Jesus is Risen! He has won the victory and it is ours! Let us believe it and live it!!
