2 St. Jerome s Catholic Church END OF TIMES Since Jesus resurrection from the dead, our world has known so many descriptions and so many predictions of the end of times, sometimes even with precise dates, that reading about it today is not big news at all. Whatever happens and whenever it happens, the main questions we need to always have in mind are: Am I concerned? If it happened during my lifetime, how would I like to live it? How is my life today preparing me to face death and resurrection when I remember the many calls from Jesus to stay awake? Today we are all chosen, we are all being served by God so that we can all enjoy eternal life in Paradise, but the time of trial will be about separation, some will go at God s left for eternal condemnation and others at His right for eternal joy in heaven. Today s Scriptures tell us that Jesus took His seat at the right hand of God to welcome those He has made perfect and consecrated. In Daniel s vision, those in the dust will awake, some to live forever and others for eternal disgrace. As we contemplate the end of times, full of faith and hope, we look at Jesus who told disciples that the Son of Man would come back with great power and glory to gather His elect from the end of the earth. In our hallway we have a big wall that invites students and staff with Let s Harvest Truth, Goodness, and Beauty!. Some of the notes on the wall say: I am thankful for God! Thank you Coach Moreno for coaching our SJS soccer team! I am thankful for food. We have a terrific staff at SJS. For Grandbabies. For life and my amazing mom. It is good to gather gratefullness! Our parishioners are so good to our school. We have 2 needs that I would like to share with you. 1. Many of our students are relying on our winter library of snow pants, jackets, mittens and hats. It would be nice to be able to give them something of their own. Might you consider donating a new jacket, hat, mittens, or snow pants? 2. Sister Audrey is working to train volunteers to be reading tutors. Would you like to volunteer 1 or 2 hours a week to help a students improve his/her reading? Be as part of a student s success story! The Lord Jesus will clearly make known to us the good we have done and the sins we have committed! Those who die in unrepentant moral sin will have cut themselves off from God forever in hell!
