We will join again in our Agape Fast for Imagine No Hunger this Sunday, June 24. Did you know that over 40,000 New Mexicans Westminster can t feed them all, but when we join with others to meet the need, we make a difference. The Food Depot in Santa Fe is the primary resource for feeding programs in Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico. Your participation in Westminster s Imagine No Hunger project supports the Food Depot. You are asked to consider fasting for one meal each week and contributing $5.00 to our joint effort. On each fourth Sunday, we meet together for a simple meal of soup and bread and learn more about hunger issues. This Sunday, we focus on the work of the Food Depot, with representative Jill Dixon. We look forward to seeing you in the Koinonia Hall following the worship service. If your contribution is by check, please remember to write Imagine No Hunger in the memo line. 3 Please join us for an interfaith time of Contemplative Silence, from 10:30 11:30 a.m. every Tuesday morning in the Sanctuary. Our group is open to the community all are most welcome to come, and to observe the silence during our time together in any way they wish. Each of us is different and there are so many doorways into meaningful silence and the listening and deepening it supports. Some will be practicing Centering Prayer, a beautiful and simple Christian contemplative practice. Come share the silence all are welcome! TAIZÉ SERVICE ON "SUMMER" SCHEDULE Join us for the Taizé service on the first Thursday of June, July and August. Weekly Taizé services will begin again in September. 4 JOIN IN THE PARADE!! As a More Light Presbyterian Church, Westminster has participated in the Gay Pride Parade for the past two years and will do so again this year. The Santa Fe Gay Pride Parade begins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday June 30th, starting from the PERA building to the Plaza for opening ceremonies and entertainment. We will gather in the church parking lot at 10 a.m. to organize and decorate and then proceed to the PERA building for the start of the parade. 5 DENOMINATIONAL NEWS News from the General Assembly Pastor Tony Aja, attended the 223rd General Assembly in St. Louis this week. Many things were decided by the Assembly. One of the articles about the Assembly "Convention center dinner in a windowless room or service and relationship building in the streets?" is about Pastor Aja and the Hispanic/Latinx National Presbyterian Caucus' mission service project at the 222nd and 223rd General Assemblies. He is in intensive care in Charlottesville, Virginia; for Margi Coxwell s brother, Loren, out of ICU, and entering rehab; for Bob Miles, in frail condition at El Castillo; for Jan Gough, who is dancing with Sister Cancer, her current, most intimate teacher in the ongoing journey with the God in whom we live and move and have our being"; for Joe Dudziak, still experiencing back pain; for Margaret Walsh s nephew Aneesh, experiencing emotional and physical issues; for Cindy Piatt s friend, Reverend Pam Normile, fighting a serious recurrence of cancer; for Keri Brinegar s Uncle Warren Skelton and Aunt Kayla; for Bill Taylor s stepmother, Joyce Taylor, who is now in hospice; for Bob, a friend of Rod Sewell; continued uplifting prayer for Jennifer Elliott, and for Jim Elliott s son Stephan, and his family in Israel; for Joe Miracle s mother, Betty, in Hospice care; for continued recovery for Brian Garcia; for Cheryl Case, friend of the Tway family, who is being treated for cancer; prayers for the Brinegars friend, Erika Roth, young wife and mother fighting cancer; continued recovery for Elizabeth Roghair s mother, Margaret Byers; for Andy Thorne, as he deals with continuing chemotherapy; continued prayer for Carmen Chavez family members; Marian Goad; Dwight Walker; Juan Bacigalupi; Margaret Walsh; John & Desiree Burnett; Dotti Tryk; Juanita Sandoval; Beverly Garrett; Suzanne Dreith; Jan Chesnut's sister and family in Damascus, Syria; for the people of Puerto Rico: for the staff and congregations of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Cuba; and for our country s Veterans. Prayers also for the parents and children separated at the Border. May their families be reunited through the new Congressional ruling, and may they be granted asylum from the torment of the drug cartels in Guatemala and Honduras.

Welcome back Pastor Tony Aja, who participated this past week in the 223rd General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church USA in St. Louis, Missouri. We are glad to have him back after what was a very exciting, eventful week.
