Her God mother, Lara Conkle (Daman), introduced us and now we are brother and sister following the cross of Christ together. Meeting others as we follow our Lord is part of the journey. I wonder if it is our Lord bringing us together for new relationships to grow at the foot of His cross. As we celebrate the birthday of the church, Pentecost, dare to wonder how the Holy Presence of God is making introductions between peoples. Be filled by God's presence to share in Holy relationships while following the cross. 4 CONGREGATIONAL NEWS Aiden Jacob Springer Born: April 4, 2016 Congratulations to parents Jacob and Amanda Springer Danica Marie Rodzankas APRIL 10, 2016 NOTE CARDS Our sanctuary note cards are now available at a 50% reduction (10 cards for $5). The note cards are blank inside and great for sending general notes to friends and family, the hospitalized, ill, bereaved, etc. Cards are always available from Kay Fabyanic at the 8:30 worship service, the rear of the sanctuary at the 10:45 service, or in the church office. Proceeds from the sale of the cards will be applied to the Capital Budget Fund. GRACE Page 4

11 STEWARDSHIP NEWS Stewardship...so much more! Hearing the "Wild Wednesday" children enthusiastically sing "One Way" during the worship part of the evening, you learn that stewardship is so much more. Yes, stewardship is about tithing and the giving of both time and money; but it is also a "Way of Life" that encourages virtues and the bearing of fruit. Wild Wednesdays, led by the Specht family, starts with dinner followed by worship and breakout sessions for lessons, crafts, and games. Children range in ages 4-16 and come from various school districts that include Center Area, Rochester Area, Beaver Falls, and Blackhawk. Children are our greatest gift entrusted into our care. Wild Wednesdays recognizes this responsibility by helping the children learn that they are a child of God. When asked, third graders Stevie and Kaylee said they liked coming to do crafts, have fun, and learn about Jesus. Adult involvement is most welcomed. Please contact the church office or speak with Jenn or Chuck Specht to see how you can help and/or involve your children. They are weeds I am told, yet as they unfold I rejoice in their lovely display. For soon it is said, their bright golden heads Will suddenly turn to gray. We will study the word of God, share His love, and expand His kingdom by nurturing, sharing freely, and working together. INTERN PASTOR ANGELA SMITH Is God interested in me personally? Is God interested in me personally? It seems that I have encountered this question frequently over the past few weeks. It has caused me to ponder when did I become so confident that God is interested in me personally. Certainly the Bible is full of stories that support this belief and is one of the primary gifts that we have in Scripture. Jesus loves me this I know is one of the first songs that I learned. The first verse that I memorized was John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. It has been helpful to me to think of God s saving story in this way. God s love of humanity came first when he created Adam and Eve. In Genesis 1:3 it is written God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good. When Adam and Eve succumb to sin and were embarrassed, God chased them down even while they were in sin. God said I want to be in relationship with you. Then many generations later God chose the people of Israel to bestow God s love and mercy so that they could be the light in the world. God delivered them from slavery to the Promised Land flowing with milk and honey. God did this so that not only Israel would know God s love, but others would see that God had wanted a deep personal relationship with all people. This was not enough for humanity, but God will not give up on God s creation. So out of God s chosen people, just as was promised through the prophets, a Messiah was born. This Messiah was given the name Jesus. Jesus is the light given to all who hear the words of the Gospel. The Good News is that God is so interested in us personally that God became human and suffered death and was resurrected so that we can know just how much we are loved. Angela Smith
