The extra payments we made in 2016, which were applied directly to principal, have helped us reduce the mortgage balance to $263,778. We are on pace to retire our 15-year mortgage in only five years total! Our Monthly Mortgage payment is $5, Over $4,000 of every $5,060 monthly mortgage payment is applied to principal while $1,000 is applied to interest expense. 2 The PRAYER TEAM is sponsoring children in need within the Kannapolis area. The Prayer Team is collecting jackets, coats, sweaters, socks, hat, mittens and other cold weather apparel for these children who are in need. Please place new or gently used items in the collection box labelled Prayer Team in the Narthex. THANK YOU from the Prayer/History Team. The prayer team has been working on the history room for a little over a year. We have had a lot of information and pictures to go through and we want to thank all who have donated items and information to help us. There is still a lot to do and it will continue to be a project. The room will be open for you to see and observe during services on Sunday. Please come by and see some of the progress you have helped us make. Thank you again. Starting Sunday, March 5 th Children s Church will begin a bit earlier in the service. Children will be dismissed just after the Passing of the Peace to their special Kids Church worship experience. Thank you to all the volunteers who have, through the years, participated in the Moments for Children worship time. This ministry has been incorporated into the Kids Church worship time. ROBOTICS class for ADULTS!! Monday, February 13 6:30pm 8:00pm CLC Building Connie Kremar at ASH WEDNESDAY... An Ash Wednesday service is planned for Wednesday, March 1 st at 7 pm in the Sanctuary. Ash Wednesday opens Lent, a season of fasting and prayer and takes place 46 days before Easter Sunday. It comes from the ancient Jewish tradition of penance and fasting. The practice includes the wearing of ashes on the head. The ashes symbolize the dust from which God made us. As the ashes are applied to a person s forehead, the Pastor speaks the words: Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return. 4 JAM Jesus & Me All kids age 3 5 th grade come join us for a brand new kid s ministry. JAM is EVERY Wednesday from 5:45 7:15 pm. Supper is served at 5:45 pm followed by a large group gathering featuring music, skits and more. Afterwards, kids are divided into age-appropriate small groups for Bible lessons, crafts and games. At 7:10 pm parents please come to the old fellowship hall for our large group closing - music, prayers, and announcements for the next week. See you at this exciting new ministry for kids!! BABY BOTTLE BOOMERANG!! Help a Mom. Triplett supports the Community Pregnancy Center of Mooresville. The Center offers hope to clients by giving them guidance in life skills for themselves and their baby. Please take a bottle and fill it with change, cash, or checks and return it TODAY. For tax credits please complete the purple sheet within the bottle. UMY meets this afternoon at 5 pm in the activity building gym. Connie Kremar & Misty Thompson will be providing the snack supper. Next Sunday those youths that signed up will be traveling to WINTER JAM in Charlotte, so there will be no regular UMY meeting. FAT TUESDAY PANCAKES... Fat Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday. It is also known as Mardi Gras Day or Shrove Day. It is a celebration and the opportunity to enjoy a favorite food or snack before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent which traditionally is a long fasting period for Christians. In addition to fasting, Christians also give up something special that they enjoy. Triplett UMC is hosting a Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper on Tuesday, February 28 th at 5:30 pm in the CLC Social Hall.
