Third graders and up are asked to remain in the sanctuary with their parents. SAFE SANCTUARIES REMINDER: As a part of Triplett s Safe Sanctuaries policy, parents must pick up their children from Sunday School each Sunday. Please make arrangements with their Sunday School teacher if your child is to be picked up by another adult. Please also remember that children and youth under the age of 18 are asked not to leave the sanctuary during the worship service unless accompanied by an adult. ******************************************************************************************************** EASTER TREE... will be loaded with eggs TODAY for adoption. The eggs represent children at the Barium Springs Home for Children. Please choose an egg, purchase the items requested, place in an Easter basket, attach the paper egg to the basket and return under the Easter tree by Sunday, March 20 th. Thank you for your support of this important mission! EASTER CANDY... A container is the Narthex TODAY for your donations of individually wrapped candy for the Easter Egg Hunt. Set your clocks on Saturday, change the batteries in your smoke detectors, and test your carbon monoxide detectors.
2 SIGN UP! CALLING THE LADIES... WOMEN S RETREAT. It s time to sign up for the annual Women s Retreat at Ocean Isle Beach. The dates are Thursday, April 21 - Sunday, April 24 th. A $50.00 deposit is due at time of sign-up. There is room for 15 participants. Come, enjoy a wonderful Bible study, walks on the beach, shopping, eating, and most of all fellowship and laughter. Deposits can be given to either Linda Ketchie or Dee Stovall. EASTER EXPERIENCE: The Loyalty Class is sponsoring a gathering during Lent to discuss Kyle Idleman s Easter Experience. This is a small group Bible Study. Everyone is welcome. The meetings are at 6:30pm on Monday s in the Loyalty Classroom of the new building. YOUNG WOMEN S BIBLE STUDY: The Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer, will continue Monday, March 6th at 6 pm at the Parsonage and will continue for 4 weeks. Teresa Auten will be the facilitator. There will be a snack supper each week. There is no age limit. Babysitting will be provided as needed. CIRCLES - The Ladies Circles are open to women of all ages, (teens to centurions) and to those both within the Church congregation and those within the community. Please consider joining a lovely group of ladies for food, fun, and fellowship. The next meetings are Tuesday March 8 th at 10:00am or 7:00pm. The ladies will be making handmade cards to send to hospitalized children. ROBOTICS & BRICKS CLUB: Our Robotics and Bricks Club will meet on Wednesday, March 9 th and Wednesday March 23rd at 6:00pm in the Education Building. They are meeting in the last classroom upstairs on the left. Parents are asked to drop off and pick up in this classroom. GOLDEN TRIPPERS... will meet on Thursday, March 10 th at 11:30am in the CLC Fellowship Hall. Casserole menu, please bring one to share. Carolyn Crisco and her dance troupe are providing the entertainment. ONE IN CHRIST... our new single s fellowship group is planning to attend the movie, Risen, on Saturday March 12 th, then we ll head to Duckworth s for dinner. Sign up sheet is on the bulletin board across from the Sunday School office. ALL AGES ARE WELCOME! Next weeks announcements will have exact movie time. YOUTH LUNCHEON FUNDRAISER - Come enjoy a delicious baked potato and salad luncheon. If you ve just got to have that meat with your taters, we ll have hotdogs with the fixins also! Lunch will be served before and after the 11:00am Worship Service on Sunday, March 13 th. Come support the youth and enjoy a yummy lunch. HALFTIME - Halftime is our Kid s Ministry, and will meet on March 16 th at 5:45pm for supper. Afterwards we ll divide into small groups for Bible stories, crafts and games. All kids ages 3-5 th grade are invited. F.I.S.H...Our Kid s Mission team will meet at Centenary UMC on Saturday, March 19 th at 10:00 am to pack meals for Servants with a Heart. These freeze dried meals will be sent to those in the U.S. and around the world who are hungry. Sign up is on the Kid s Ministry board. EASTER EGG HUNT... All kids up to 5 th grade are invited to our Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, March 19 th from 2-4pm. Egg Hunts, Stories, Crafts, Games, Egg Dyeing, and Refreshments are planned. All are welcome, so invite your friends and neighbors. Sign up on the bulletin board across from the Sunday School Office. WINTERJAM - 2:00 PM ON March 26. Youth to Winter Jam Concert at Time Warner Arena in Charlotte. Looking ahead to Easter, there will not be UMY nor Confirmation Class on March 27.
3 APRIL 30 - Tell everyone you see! The famous COCKMAN Family, a bluegrass gospel group from Sherrills Ford will be in concert in our CLC on April 30. A dinner will be served prior to their performance. There will also be a silent auction taking place during the dinner hour. Come on out, have a delicious meal, take home an auction item and sit back, relax and enjoy this talented family. You will truly be blessed! Donations will be accepted for this event which is sponsored by the Finishing Committee. 5:30p - 7:00p - Dinner and Auction. April 30-7:00 pm - COCKMAN FAMILY CONCERT OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMUNITY FELLOWSHIP - Friday March 11th at Centenary UMC, Mt. Ulla, there will be a fundraiser dinner for the West Rowan Bible Teachers. Then a FISH FRY & GOSPEL MUSIC on March 19 from 11-7:30p at St. Luke s Lutheran Church, Mt. Ulla. The meal fees are by donation. CROSS WALK: Our church will be participating in the Mooresville Community Cross Walk on Good Friday, March 25 th. The walk begins in the Sanctuary at Central UMC at 9:30 am and will end with a free lunch at Fairview UMC. The cross will stop at different points along Broad Street where Scripture is read and where the cross is exchanged among different church groups. Please sign up on the bulletin board across from the office if you would like to ride the church vehicles and also if you plan to drive but would like to walk with the church. They d like everyone to wear cross walk t-shirts, so if you d like one, they are $10. Please put shirt size on sign up sheet. APP available: Now available, a Church App for Smartphones. For details please contact Emory Harmon. PICK-UP VOLLEYBALL: Adult and youth pick up volleyball will continue on Thursday evenings in the Activity Building, 6:30-8:30 pm. Come out and join the fun!! WALKERS: For all of you who would love a warm, church friendly place to walk, our Activity Building will be open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10am - 7pm. Come on out, get healthy and enjoy an invigorating walk. ATTENTION ALL CHURCH MEMBERS: all who use the CLC stage please enter through either side door. Thanks for your cooperation. USE OF BUILDING GUIDELINES for the Activity Building, Christian Life Center (CLC), and Old Fellowship Hall/Kitchen are available in the Church Office during business hours. If you would like to have a set but cannot get to the church during the week, please the office and one will be set out at the Reception Station in the CLC. THANKS! A big thanks to Whitney Brannen for the beautiful art display located in the kitchen area of our new Activity Building. What great talent she has! 4 BUILDING FUND BOOST SUNDAYS As each of you may recall a Finishing Committee has been established to initiate ways to pay down the debt on the new buildings. The Building Fund Boost Sundays are in addition to pledges that have been made. Beginning May 29 th and on each month with a fifth (5 th ) Sunday thereafter, anyone that is a part of our church family will have an opportunity to give as much to the Building Fund as possible. The 5th Sundays will be called Building Fund Boost Sundays. Adults, youth and children will be given a chance to take to the altar all monies they have saved during each three month period. Please set aside your personal collection container and begin saving today for Boost Sunday. God has richly blessed us here at Triplett. Let s get excited about this endeavor, meet our friends at the altar and give some of our generous God given gifts back to Him.
