2 SPY ACADEMY VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2016 Vacation Bible School recently wrapped up for the year. This year s theme was Spy Academy. Chaska Moravian Church welcomed 15 children for 5 straight days of fun, food, and discovering the truth about God! We learned about the Bible and how it can teach us all we need to know. We learned about how God created everything in the world, and most amazingly how he created each of us! We learned about talking to God through prayer, and about serving God by serving others. A HUGE thank you to the Moravian Women for helping with the snacks the entire week of VBS. They provided the food and the wonderful service, and are so very appreciated! Thank you to Janet for rounding up the sweetest crew of kids to come to VBS it was so great having them all there! Thank you, too, for your help on the sidelines throughout the weekyou were just wonderful! And, Nancy!!! Thank you so much for giving up your time on your last free week of summer- that truly is a sacrifice! You are amazing with the kids, and even more amazing at knowing what needed to be done even before I did! Thank you for all that you did. Thank you, Mike, for being there all week to connect with and teach the kids. Thank you for keeping me calm, and blowing their minds by climbing through the window on the last day! ~ Katie Nordby CELEBRATING DONNA & SHIRLEY Thank you to Jane Christopher, for sponsoring September s newsletter in memory of parents Dorothy & James Rosier. You may make a donation of $60.00 to dedicate a monthly newsletter in honor of or in memory of a loved one. Sign up on the hallway table or call the church office. 2

Leftover sloppy joe, buns, pies, toppings were sold on Sunday bringing in another $ We had enough sloppy joe & pie left over to use in feeding Families Moving Forward on Sept. 1 st. THANK YOU TO ALL! for your monetary donations, the pie/brownie bakers & donators, pie cutters, the homemade caramel & chocolate sauce providers, shift volunteers, clean-up crews & greeter. Your time & efforts are greatly appreciated. A special thank you to Bonnie Taylor for her willingness to serve as co-chair this year. We tried to break her in gently, not sure we succeeded on the gentle. A SPECIAL THANK YOU to Terry Rank for her years of service as co-chair & her assistance in showing Bonnie the ropes. Terry, your time, knowledge & willingness to assist has been greatly appreciated. Don t expect to be completely off the hook yet! Thank you to Jen in the office for her assistance in seeing to it we have covered all the bases outside of food prep.
