2 First-Time Guests Our doors are wide open... to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. ur worship services present an opportunity to worship God and receive practical teaching from His Word, the Bible. So whether you re a committed Christian who wants to sink your roots of faith deeper, or a spiritual seeker who s just starting to ask questions about God, you can find a home here at River Valley. Please take advantage of the information in this brochure. If you would like more information about our church, please visit the Information Table in the lobby or visit our website at Relax and enjoy the Worship Service as our guest, we realize the songs we sing may be unfamiliar, so participate as much as you feel comfortable. Later in our service we will be collecting an offering. Please do not feel any obligation to give. The offering is intended for those who consider River Valley their church home. If you would like prayer our Prayer Team is available in the front of the auditorium at the end of each Worship Service. Take advantage of this opportunity to receive prayer concerning any needs that you may have. Also, our Prayer Room is open during and after all services as a quiet place to pray alone. Please fill out the Connect card...it is located in the chair-back in front of you. Feel free to fill out this card with your information, decisions, praises, or prayer requests and place it in the offering basket when it is passed. Children s Ministry Spotlight Hi, my name is Kristin Dunn. I have the great honor and privilege of giving you an update on children s ministry events and highlighting a volunteer or staff member each month. My prayer is that this will connect you better with Children s Ministry and give you an insider view of what goes on behind the scenes. For the first update, I thought I d tell you a little about myself. I m 22, and I got involved in ministry when my mom became the director of Calico Street over a decade ago. It was in those years that I developed a servant s heart and a passion to work with children. I started volunteering by acting once a month and grew in my personal strengths by serving in the kitchen at summer camps, being a camp counselor, and now teaching K/1 st grade on Sundays. It has been over 12 years, and I can say children s ministry has been one of my greatest joys in life! I d highly recommend anyone of any age to serve in children s ministry. Serving as a family at a young age instilled much of the core fundamental values I fall back on today, brought us together, and created memories to look back on for years to come. I d also like to add, I m super stoked for the new curriculum we are starting this month! We will be taking all of our children, age 2 through 5 th grade, through the Bible in the 2016/2017 school year. I look forward to teaching your kiddos some of my favorite stories of the Bible and watching them grow in their faith. If you are interested in serving in Children s Ministry, please indicate it on your Connect card, or contact Allison Bolen at abolen@rivervalleycc.org or (541)
