4 The Book of Life is intended to allow us to remember those who have died, and have been born to Eternal life. Those names enrolled in the Book of Life will be remembered in all the Masses on All Souls Day, November 2nd. Your loved ones will also be remembered in all the weekend Masses celebrated during November. All are invited to express your love in the Book of Life. Simply use the envelopes available in the vestibule. Please PRINT the names of your loved ones CLEARLY so the names are correctly entered into the book. Put the envelope, along with your donation, in the box provided. You may also drop off your envelope at the Parish Office or in the collection basket during Mass. The deadline to submit your request is Sunday, October 28th. Congratulations to the following families whose children were recently baptized. We welcome your newly baptized child into our parish family and we share in your joy and excitement. Your child is a gift to all of us. THIS IS HOLY FIRE!! At Holy Fire young people will be called to embrace their baptism and engage with the relevant and powerful Gospel of Jesus. This event will take place on Saturday, October 27th at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. Doors open at 8:30 am and the day closes at 2:30 pm. Everyone is asked to bring a lunch. Snacks will be available at the concession stand along with souvenirs from Holy Fire for purchase. The cost for each child is $ Transportation will be provided. We will be leaving St. Peter Damian at 7:45 am. Permission forms are available in the back of the Church and the Faith Formation Office. Please return the form and payment to the Faith Formation office no later than October 17th. To pray the rosary is to hand over our burdens to the merciful hearts of Christ and his mother. -St. John Paul II Rosary Prayer The Fatima Prayer Group would like to invite you to pray the rosary on Saturday, October 13th at Noon. This rosary praying, sponsored by America Needs Fatima will be one of over 23,000 public rallies that will take place all over the United States on that day. Please join us in offering reparation for the sins and offenses committed against Jesus Christ and the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to fervently pray for the conversation of the United States. All those attending are asked to meet at the grotto in front of the Chapel. The praying of the rosary will take place outdoors, weather permitting. Pancake Breakfast Hosted by the Knights of Columbus Sunday, October 14th Serving 7:30 am through 12:30 pm Lower level of the Chapel 309 S. North Ave in Bartlett All you can eat pancakes, sausage, hash browns, coffee, milk and orange juice. Adults $8.00 Seniors (65 and over) $6.00 Children (under 10) $3.00 Young Adults (10 to 17) $5.00 Children 3 and under Free Come and enjoy a good meal and learn how many good things pancakes can help support. The net proceeds of this event will be used to support many charitable activities including projects such as the Special Olympics, the Global Wheelchair Mission, Habitat for Humanity, Food for Families, the Coats for Kids projects and support of local facilities for education of the disabled. There will be Bible Study on Wednesday, October 3rd after morning Mass at 9:10 am in Fellowship Hall, lower level of the Chapel and 7:00 pm in the Saint John Paul II Resource Center, lower level of the Rectory. Want to bring Communion to those who are not mobile in homes or hospitals? We are in need of volunteers! Satisfy that desire in your heart to bring the Lord to these people. Please contact the Parish Office to volunteer at All women are invited to join us in growing their faith and connection with God. Please join us on Tuesday, October 9th at 6:30 pm in the St. John Paul II Resource Center (lower level of the Rectory). The Divine Mercy Prayer group meets every Friday at 3:00 pm in the Chapel. If you are a member of this ministry please make sure to bring your booklet with for the prayer session. New members are welcome to join. If you are in 7th through 12th grade please join us when we meet on Friday at 6:00 pm in the Youth Ministry Center located in the lower level of the Rectory. Bring a friend! All teens are welcome! Bulletin Submissions Submissions to the Bulletin are needed at least 10 days prior to the requested weekend. All submissions are subject to approval and alterations are at the discretion of the editor. 7 Annual Life Chain Annually, on the first Sunday in October, reserved as Respect Life Sunday, the National Life Chain invites Christians in every city and town across North America to stand along a busy street while praying and holding inoffensive signs opposing legalized abortion. St. Ansgar, a parish within our grouping, is joining neighboring parishes to form a Life Chain on Sunday, October 7th from 2:30-4:00 PM. This chain will form along the south side of Irving Park Road from Barrington to Bartlett Road. We plan to gather at the corner of East Ave. and Irving Park Rd. where you can select a non-graphic sign to hold during our prayerful vigil. At that point, we will spread out to form a long chain. If you have trouble standing, bring a lawn chair for comfort. Join us all are welcome to come! Children, teens, families and neighbors! You can make a difference! Afterwards, St. Ansgar Church, located at 2040 Laurel Ave. in Hanover Park will host a coffee and- with cookies and treats. Please mark your calendars and reserve a small amount of time to benefit a large amount of children to give them a fighting chance. Legalized abortion must be stopped in our country.
