2 Welcome to Worship at First Presbyterian Church Neenah, Wisconsin We re delighted that you re here! With the open arms of Christ, we welcome those of every age, ability, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity fully into the life of the church. Large print bulletins (with hymns included) are available. Please ask an usher. Hearing Assistance: First Presbyterian has a hearing loop for hearing aid users equipped with T-coils. Brochures explaining this feature are available in the pews. There are also head phones available in the Narthex, (aka the entryway) if you don t have hearing aids. Childcare (infants and toddlers through 2 years old) is available in the nursery located across from the Library. We welcome infants and small children in worship, but if your child needs care or becomes uncomfortable during the service, feel free to leave and return as you wish. Worship bags with activities and Bibles for children are available near the entrances of the Sanctuary. Wee Worship: At the option of their parents, children ages three years through first grade are invited to follow a teacher to the Wee Worship room next to the library right after the Time for Children. Wee Worship provides an environment for young children to learn, experience, and participate in worship in a developmentally appropriate way. When we celebrate a Baptism or Communion, children rejoin their families in worship right after the sermon so that they can participate. If their parents prefer, children may be taken to the nursery instead of returning to worship. 5 Ordination and Installation of Officers (10:15) Statement of Purpose Presentation of New Officers *Reaffirmation of the Baptismal Covenant Trusting in the gracious mercy of God, do you turn from the ways of sin and renounce evil and its power in the world? I do. Do you turn to Jesus Christ and accept him as your Lord and Savior, trusting in his grace and love? I do. Will you be Christ s faithful disciple, obeying his Word and showing his love? I will, with God s help. With the whole church, let us confess our faith. Do you believe in God the Father? I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. 9 Things to Know for 2019 Church Business Reimbursements When requesting reimbursement for purchases made for FPCN please be sure to write on your receipt the event the purchase was made for and who should receive the reimbursement. Whenever possible, please use our tax exemption when purchasing items for the church. You can pick up a copy of our tax exempt certificate in the office. Per Capita Rates Per capita is a set amount of money (apportionment) per member that congregations pay to the larger Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Said another way, it is a Presbyterian Covenant Community Fund part of the glue that holds Presbyterians together. Because every Presbyterian shares in the benefit of the PC(USA) s system of government, the expenses associated with coordinating and performing the functions of that system should be shared by everyone as well. At the Presbytery meeting in October 2018, the per capita rate was increased from $35.33 to $37.00 for Vacancy Dues Eliminated The Board of Pensions has decided to eliminate vacancy dues, effective January 1, Currently, congregations pay dues for the first 12 months that a minister member s position is vacant. Going forward, this burden has been eliminated. Presbytery Meeting Dates February 16, 2019 held at Frame Memorial Church in Stevens Point. May 18, 2019 held at First Presbyterian Church in Green Bay October 19, 2019 location to be determined. Pastoral Care: Because of HIPAA laws and privacy regulations, the church does not always hear about hospitalizations of our members. If you or family members experience a hospitalization, illness, or other need for pastoral care, please call the church office so that the pastors and parish nurse may be alerted. Weather Cancellation Policy: First Presbyterian Church of Neenah encourages individuals and families to rely on their own best judgment when conditions such as inclement weather, dangerous road conditions, or other emergency situations might put their health and safety at risk by attending church services or church-related events. During the week, our church office mirrors the Neenah School District. When Neenah Schools are cancelled due to weather, our church office will be closed and all events are cancelled. All cancellations or schedule changes will be posted on our outgoing phone message, church website calendar, our Facebook page, and local TV and radio stations.
