2 Welcome to Worship at First Presbyterian Church Neenah, Wisconsin We re delighted that you re here! With the open arms of Christ, we welcome persons of every age, ability, race, or ethnicity fully into the life of the church, recognizing and respecting all sexual orientations and gender identities. Large print bulletins (with hymns included) are available. Please ask an usher. Hearing Assistance: First Presbyterian has a hearing loop for hearing aid users equipped with T-coils. Brochures explaining this feature are available in the pews. Childcare (infants and toddlers through 2 years old) is available in the nursery located next to the Fellowship Hall. We welcome infants and small children in worship, but if your child needs care or becomes uncomfortable during the service, feel free to leave and return as you wish. The audio portion of the second service can be heard in the Chapel, where you and your child are also welcome. Worship Bags and Bibles for Children are available near the entrances of the Chapel and the Sanctuary. Worship Enrichment (ages 3 years old 1 st grade): Following the Children s Time during the 9:00 a.m. worship service, parents may, if they wish, take their children to Worship Enrichment, which is located in the preschool room, next to the library. Worship Enrichment offers time for children to learn stories, games, songs, and crafts based upon familiar Bible lessons. We are still in need of volunteers for both food donations and to help prepare, serve and clean-up. Barb Turner will be running the event for our church, but feel free to reach out to either Anne Jones (anne65jones@gmail.com) or Barb (barbara.ann.turner@gmail.com) in advance if you can help or sign up at the church. Rock the Block will be working to brighten the Doty Island neighborhood July 17 th to 22 nd. The 2017 host church is St. Paul s Lutheran (200 N. Commercial St., Neenah). We can help by dropping off cookies, bars, and bottled water to their church office. To volunteer or for more information check out the Rock the Block Fox Cities website (www. Did the piano shrink? Great question! For the next few weeks, Blake will be using the beautiful baby grand piano that normally lives in the Chapel. Our nine-foot Steinway concert grand piano is spending the summer getting significant repairs new strings, new hammers, and other important adjustments. We are so fortunate to have such a terrific instrument, and part of our responsible stewardship is to take care of these gifts and keep them functioning well, as we would with our cars or the roofs over our homes. I am reminded in moments like this of the tremendous generosity of our faith community. From the volunteer who helps put up sheet-rock at a Habitat build to the greeter who meets every worshipper with a smile and a bulletin. We may run on our budget but we thrive on our gifts of time and talents. I would like to thank the Dedmons for the generous gift of the baby grand, and Scott Dickson for funding these repairs for the Steinway. And, of course, thanks to Blake for making any keyboard instrument he plays sound so good! Steve Sieck 8
