From Father Kirby Happy Sunday, Team Grace! Today we celebrate the Bap1sm of the Lord Jesus. In his bap1sm, Jesus was prefiguring his Passion, Death, and Resurrec1on. In our own bap1sms, we died to the things of this world and are born anew in Jesus Christ. In the living out of our bap1sms, we re-live the Passion, Death, and Resurrec1on every day. And so, do we understand the call of our bap1sm? What have we done with its graces? Are we seeking to live out the Lord s Paschal Mystery in our own lives? In our bap1sm, we became a member of Christ s own body. We join the family of God! This means we have mul1ple brothers and sisters from every tribe, people, and tongue. Among these older siblings is Padre Saint Pio. Today, we re honored to bless a new statue of this beloved saint in our own church! Thank you to our donor. Padre Pio, pray for us! Last week, we were graced to bless the statue of Saint Josephine Bakhita. I inaccurately wrote in my column that the saint was from the Congo. She is actually from the Sudan in Africa. With Padre Pio, she is one of our older siblings in Christ. Saint Josephine Bakhita, pray for us! What a blessing our bap1sm is to each of us. We have the grace to live as the children of God and we re given older siblings to help us and pray for us! In some other areas: Caroline Bates is no longer a member of our staff. We wish her the best in her future endeavors! With her departure, I m ac1vely searching for a new Parish Bookkeeper. If there are any bookkeepers out there who are looking for part-1me work, please me at frkirby@gracewepray.org. While we re searching for a new bookkeeper, Natalie Senglaub has returned temporarily to our staff and is helping with our finances. Welcome back, Natalie!
