THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY A Holy Day of obligation Wednesday, August 15th is the Feast of the Assumption, a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses will be held on Wednesday at 7:30 am, 12:10 pm and 7:00 pm. The Sisters of Notre Dame De Namur An Invitation to Partnership Next weekend, August 18th & 19th, Sr. Leonore Coan, will be speaking on behalf of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur ministries in Africa and Latin America. Sister will tell the Notre Dame story from personal experience throughout countries in Africa and Latin America. Throughout their long history as an educational order they have always emphasized the care of those living in poverty in the most abandoned places. They stand with the poor through a diversity of educational ministries at all levels of society. The financial appeal that she will make is on behalf of the ministry needs in evangelization, education, pastoral and health care. The Knights of Columbus Council # of St Elizabeth Seton Parish is sponsoring a blood drive to assist the American Red Cross in maintaining a supply of blood. August 15 th from 2:00 pm 7:00 pm Parish Activity Center Basic Eligibility Requirements Most healthy adults can give blood through the American Red Cross. You meet the basic eligibility requirements if you: Are at least 17 years old weigh at least 110 pounds are in good health on the day of donation have no history of exposure to hepatitis or AIDS your last blood donation was at least 56 days ( 8 weeks) ago. It is recommended that donors schedule their appointments rather than walking-in by either visiting the Red Cross web site at clicking on Enter Sponsor Code, entering sponsor code 8088, and following the site s instructions; or, by calling ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION Bishop Peter A. Libasci invites all couples celebrating an anniversary of 5, 25, or 50 years, to attend the Fall Wedding Anniversary Mass. This celebration will take place on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Cathedral, in Manchester. Couples are encouraged to invite select family members to share in the joyous occasion. Summer break is a wonderful time to work on crafting projects for the Parish Craft Fair, November 10. The Women s Guild is excited to once again present a craft and bake table for unique gift shopping. We will accept donations of new hand-crafted items and suggest some of our popular sellers and new ones too! Knitted scarves both (outerwear and light weight eternity), fleece wear (hats and mittens), lap blankets, Mason jar crafts (online has lots of ideas), adult size aprons, tote bags, wire jewelry, bracelets and pendants. Have fun with it! Details will be posted in the bulletin as the fair draws near for delivery of your items. Our beautiful 8-inch potted mums, produced by a New Hampshire grower, are priced at $7.50 each or 3 for $21.00 ($7.00 each for three or more plants). Proceeds from this event help to support the club s educational programs, provide for holiday wreaths at public buildings, and maintain the club s 8 community gardens located throughout Bedford. Parish Nurse Programs The Parish Nurse Programs at St. Elizabeth Seton will not be held during the month of August. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is extended, without obligation, to any interested adult. The RCIA process, which begins in the fall, is a process that invites people whose journey of faith has led them to learn about the Catholic Church s beliefs and practices. Who else should come?
