MEETINGS 917 bytes General Membership meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month except July. Some of these meetings are special as follows: 4/5/07: dinner meeting at the Spaghetti Warehouse with a speaker from Goodyear Tire and Rubber. 8/2/07: picnic meeting at Portage Lakes Yacht Club. 9/6/07: dinner meeting at the Masonic Lodge with speaker Adam Prokop from ODNR. 10/4/07: Eductional Recognition night with pizza and pop. 12/6/07: Christmas Cookie exchange. page 3 / 5
4 2/7/08: Founders Day celebration with cake and coffee. Separate dinner events were held: 2/17/07: Change of Watch held at Greystone Hall. 6/22/2007 Portage Lakes Dinner Cruise. 8/25/2007 Corn Roast at Battery Park 1/12/2008 Boat Show dinner held at 100th Bomber Group Restaurant. Executive Meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month. There were 12 meetings held but the July meeting did not have a quorum and no notes were taken. B. BOATING ACTIVITIES 388 bytes June All Boat Rendezvous in Put-In-Bay Ohio. July Middle Bass Island Rendezvous. July Trailer Boat/River Rendezvous in Marietta Ohio. Mid Ohio Valley Squadron members also participated. August over 15 members and some guests participated in the Sail/Slow Boat Rendezvous in Port Clinton Ohio. August members attended the D7 Rendezvous in Lorain Ohio. C. COOPERATIVE CHARTING 133 bytes 8/25/2007 Co-op Charting event same day as Corn Roast event. Some members from Mansfield and Stark Power Squadrons also participated. D. PARTICIPATION IN DISTRICT AFFAIRS 101 bytes Most Bridge members and several other members attended both the Spring and Fall District Conferences. E. PARTICIPATION IN NATIONAL AFFAIRS 59 bytes P/C Robert A Ball AP participated in the National meeting. F. PARTICIPATION IN COMMUNITY AFFAIRS 617 bytes 14 members participated in William Mather event where members perform assigned duties from the ship William Mather as it prepares to open for the tourist season. Duties may include painting scraping scrubbing etc. This event was in 04/2007. A few times during the year members donated various personal product type items that were subsequently turned over to the USO for USA troops overseas. For the holiday season Adopt-a-Shelter happened in which items were collected by generous members and donated to the local Battered Women's Shelter. Some members participated in the July 4 Portage Lakes Boat Parade. G. VESSEL SAFETY CHECKS 638 bytes APS completed 567 Vessel Safety checks. Of those 410 passed. B. DISTRICT 417 bytes At the D7 COW/Spring Conference APS was presented with the D7 VSC award. In addition Lt Robert Mosey S and P/C Robert A Ball AP were presented with the USPS Century Club award for completing more than 100 VSC's in APS won a Journalism Award. P/C Doug Thomas SN was presented with Best Website Award from the 2007 IT committee. Rocky River Tankard awarded at both the Spring and Fall Conferences in C. NATIONAL - None D. COMMUNITY - None E. OTHER 91 bytes Honorary Memberships awarded to: Jean Cole Adam Prokop Larry Simonetti and Bill Staiger. SECTION IX - OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION 242 bytes Final Draft of ByLaws Revision and full By-Laws document accepted at 11/1/07 General Membership meeting.
