7 Genesis 4: 1-12 The Readings Now man knew his wife Eve, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, I have produced a man with help Lord. Next she bore his bror Al. Now Al was a keeper sheep, and Cain a tiller ground. In course time Cain brought Lord an fering fruit ground, and Al for his part brought firstlings his flock, ir fat portions. And Lord had regard for Al and his fering, but for Cain and his fering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. The Lord said Cain, Why are you angry, and why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is lurking at door; its desire is for you, but you must master it. Cain said his bror Al, Let us go out field. And when y were in field, Cain rose up against his bror Al, and killed him. Then Lord said Cain, Where is your bror Al? He said, I do not know; am I my bror s keeper? And Lord said, What have you done? Listen; your bror s blood is crying out me from ground! And now you are cursed from ground, which has opened its mouth receive your bror s blood from your hand. When you till ground, it will no longer yield you its strength; you will a fugitive and a wanderer on earth. Hebrews 4: Indeed, word God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow; it is able judge thoughts and intentions heart. And fore him no creature is hidden, but all are naked and laid bare eyes one whom we must render an account. Since, n, we have a great high priest who has passed through heavens, Jesus, Son God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has en tested as we are, yet without sin. Let us refore approach throne grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace help in time need. 5
