1 Our Vision: A world where people experience God s love are made whole. Our Mission: To share love of Jesus through compassion, inclusivity, creativity learning. Evensong 3 August :15 p.m.
2 Evensong Thursday in Eighth Week after Pentecost 3 August :15 pm Welcome to Grace Cadral. Choral Evensong marks end of working day prepares approaching night. The roots of this service come out of ancient monastic traditions of Christian prayer. Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury in 16th century, created this m as part of simplification of services within newly-remed Church of Engl. The Episcopal Church, as part of worldwide Anglican Communion, has inherited this pattern of evening prayer. In this service we are invited to reflect on business of past day, to pray world selves, to commend all into God s hs as words of Holy Scripture are said sung. The beauty of music is offered to help us set lives in light of eternity; same light which dwelt among us in Jesus, which now illuminates us by Spirit. May this service be a blessing to you. 6 The Readings 2 Kings 4:42-44 man came from Baal-shalishah, bringing A food from first fruits to man of God: twenty loaves of barley fresh ears of grain in his sack. Elisha said, Give it to people let m eat. But his servant said, How can I set this bee a hundred people? So he repeated, Give it to people let m eat, thus says Lord, They shall eat have some left. He set it bee m, y ate, had some left, according to word of Lord. John 6:1-21 Jesus went to or side of Sea of Galilee, also called Sea of Tiberias. A large crowd kept following him, because y saw signs that he was doing sick. Jesus went up mountain sat down re with his disciples. Now Passover, festival of Jews, was near. When he looked up saw a large crowd coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, Where are we to buy bread se people to eat? He said this to test him, he himself knew what he was going to do. Philip answered him, Six months wages would not buy enough bread each of m to get a little. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter s bror, said to him, There is a boy here who has five barley loaves two fish. But what are y among so many people? Jesus said, Make people sit down. Now re was a great deal of grass in place; so y sat down, about five thous in all. Then Jesus took loaves, when he had given thanks, he distributed m to those who were seated; so also fish, as much as y wanted. When y were satisfied, he told his disciples, Gar up fragments left over, so that nothing may be lost. So y gared m up, from fragments of five barley loaves, left by those who had eaten, y filled twelve baskets. When people saw sign that he had done, y began to say, This is indeed prophet who is to come into world. When Jesus realized that y were about to come take him by ce to make him king, he withdrew again to mountain by himself. When evening came, his disciples went down to sea, got into a boat, started across sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, Jesus had not yet come to m. The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. When y had rowed about three or f miles, y saw Jesus walking on sea coming near boat, y were terrified. But he said to m, It is I; do not be afraid. Then y wanted to take him into boat, immediately boat reached l toward which y were going. 5

To keep it beautiful requires maintenance renovation. Here is more inmation on two proects that are underway. Restoring North-facing Quire windows: Our stained glass windows are one of most renowned treasures. We began a program of restoring m in 2015, after a very generous unassuming member of community left us resces specifically maintenance of cadral. The South North Transcept windows have been beautifully restored now it is turn of north-facing windows in Quire. The interior scaffolding will be removed around August 10. When it is gone, you will see placeholder amber glass in five North Quire windows next year while stained glass windows are restored off-site. The exterior scaffolding will remain in place, wrapped, until August of 2018; that is when restored stained glass will be re-installed. While exterior scaffolding is not eye-pleasing, keeping it in place, rar than taking it down now re-erecting it in a year, is a huge cost-savings that represents conscientious stewardship of gracious bequest cadral maintenance. AIDS Memorial Interfaith Chapel: The AIDS Chapel is closed will reopen in early fall. Keith Haring s triptych altarpiece, The Life of Christ (1990), is now located in niche inside Ghiberti doors viewing during closure.
