29 He is a man uncomfortable when speaking before a group and who feels he is lacking as a leader, but takes the position of Grand Knight and leads his council to amazing achievements. a man who takes off work early some days to work bingos, dinners, dances and other types of fundraisers, but then comes into work early and stays late on other nights to keep his livelihood. a man who spends his weeknights and weekends conferring the degrees of the Order on new members when he could be home watching television. a man who works at his council doing non-glamorous work and doesn t expect recognition. a man who puts on a Tootsie Roll apron, stands in the hot sun or pouring rain and collects for the Developmentally Disabled, when he could be home working on a project he has put off too many times.

30 He is a man who donates money to all type of Knights of Columbus causes and sends his children to Catholic Schools and worries about next month s mortgage payment. a man who experiences the normal adolescent problems which come up in in raising his children, but still takes time to be active in the Pro-Life Movement and takes part in the marches necessary to win this most important battle. a man who works all day with Special Olympians and goes home to his healthy children and gets down on his knees and thanks God for his blessings. a man who works with healthy children taking part in our Youth programs, and goes home to a mentally or physically handicapped child and gets down on his knees and thanks God for the special gift he has been given.

31 He is a man who sees and hears all the temptations offered by our world today and realizes with total certainty that the best thing that ever happened to him is his wife who gives him all the love and support he will ever need. a man who supports and promotes vocations, serves as a lay minister, works closely with his Pastor, does whatever he can for his church, and always challenges himself as to how he can improve himself as a Catholic. a man who is not judged by his name, his money, his clothes, his appearance, his car, his house, or who he knows, but by what he does, how he does it, and how he lives his life as a Catholic gentleman. a man like YOU.
