The love of Christ both purifies and sets us free to do good to all, even those who cause us grief. The call to accountability for what we have done and have failed to do is inevitable and we can't escape it, both in this life and at the day of judgment when the Lord Jesus will return. But while we have the opportunity today, we must not give up on praying for those who cause us offense. With God's help we must seek to make every effort to win them with the grace and power of God's healing love and wisdom. "Lord Jesus, make me an instrument of your healing love and peace. Give me wisdom and courage to bring your healing love and saving truth to those in need of healing and restoration." School Of Religion School of Religion Classes begin this week, Welcome Back!! Volunteers are still needed, please call Sallie Kabash at the Parish Office. Holy Cross On Catholic Radio Experience the "Joy of the Gospel!" Please consider a donation of $100 or more to help us meet our budget. Thank you for your generosity. Support the Sisters of Mercy The Sisters of Mercy will be selling Golf Classic 50/50 raffle tickets after all Masses this weekend. Holy Cross Men s Group Join us This Thursday for our first Fall Session! Saints. Artists. Mystics. Scholars. Bishop Robert Barron's CATHOLICISM series, an epic ten part documentary, took people around the world and deep into the Catholic Faith. The series aired on PBS and has been seen by millions. But there is still more of the story to tell. Bishop Barron is on a new journey to unlock the truth behind the Catholic Church's most influential people. Catholicism: The Pivotal Players is a multi-part film series that illumines a handful of saints, artists, mystics and scholars who not only shaped the life of the Church but changed the course of civilization. In the first session on September 14, at 7:30 PM, the Men's Group will focus on Saint Francis, The Reformer. Rebuild my Church! That s the mission Christ gave to St. Francis and it s the perennial task of the Church in every age of its life. But how is the reform and renewal of the Church to be accomplished? The life of St. Francis demonstrates that Christ intends the foundations of true and lasting reform to be built on the solid rock that is the radical witness of the saints. Please join us, new members are always welcome! Our Lady of Fatima 100th Year Celebration Join us on Wednesday, September 13th, following the 9 AM Mass, for Fatima Anniversary prayers. Pray For Our Catechists Catechetical Sunday 2017 Food Drive for St. Anthony s Next weekend, September 16/17, Holy Cross will have a Food Drive for St. Anthony s Parish in Red Bank. Please help by donating non-perishable food, along with personal and household items. Monetary donations are appreciated.
3 September 10, 2017 Page 3 #623 Holy Cross Adult Choir The start of the choir year in September offers an ideal opportunity to consider becoming a part of the music program here at Holy Cross Church. The adult choir is a group of volunteer singers, we invite experienced singers to help expand the ranks. The choir provides a varied repertoire of outstanding classical sacred music for the Sunday 10:30 AM Mass on the second, third and fourth Sundays of the month (September-May). They also sing for Christmas and Easter and for concerts throughout the season. The choir is as excellent way to enter more fully into the spiritual and liturgical life of the Church. Our choir meets for rehearsals each Thursday evening in the Parish Office at 7:00 PM and on Sunday mornings in the Church at 10 AM, for rehearsal before the 10:30 AM Mass. Our first two rehearsals will be on Thursday, September 7th and 14th, to prepare for the 12 noon mass on September 17th. The Holy Cross 12 Noon Mass will be broadcast by WJFS 89.3 on Sunday, September 17th when we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Cross! If you would like to know more about our choir I welcome the opportunity to speak with you following the weekend Masses.
