1 Dear Youth Pastor or Leader, It is time to get ready for Youth Evangelism Conference The Youth Evangelism Conference (YEC) exists to evangelize youth, to strengthen the faith of those youth who already follow Jesus Christ and to provide an opportunity for churches across the state to deepen their fellowship with one another. It will be at the West Virginia Nazarene Camp in Summersville, West Virginia. The theme is Desperate! The Psalmist wrote, May all those who seek you be happy and rejoice in you! May those who love to experience your deliverance say continually, May God be praised! I am oppressed and needy! O God, hurry to me! You are my helper and my deliverer! O Lord, do not delay! (Psalm 70:4-5). It is my desire that young people develop a hunger for the LORD and the YEC be key in seeing that happen. Our speaker is Dr. Richard Ross, professor of Student Ministry and the J.M. Price Chair of Religious Education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has spent his entire life focused on seeing Jesus Christ glorified in the lives of teenagers. Luminate will lead worship with us for the second year. The headline group for Friday night will be Hawk Nelson. 4 Youth Evangelism Conference 2014 ACCOMODATIONS The Youth Evangelism Conference (YEC) exists to evangelize youth, to strengthen the faith of those youth who already follow Jesus Christ and to provide an opportunity for churches across the state to deepen their fellowship with one another. The West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptist (WVCSB) consists of churches of all shapes, sizes and economic backgrounds, and it is our desire to provide a high quality, low cost event so that everyone can participate. Below you will find several hotels in which we have secured discounted rates for YEC. All of the hotels listed below have blocks of rooms reserved for YEC (January 17, 2014). You are responsible for making reservations at the hotel of your choice. Just call the number provided and be sure to use the group name WVCSB or the provided group number. The hotels should have our tax exemption number on file and should not charge you state sales tax (though you may still have to pay local tax). You may want to provide a copy of your church s tax exemption number as well. The prices listed are plus tax. Please note, that in order to take advantage of the YEC discounted rate, you must make your reservations before each hotel s cut-off date as given below. The hotels have different cut-off dates according to their own contracts, so please note the cut-off date of the hotel you choose. You will also find below the name of several churches that have so graciously agree to allow youth groups to camp out in their facilities in order to help further decrease the cost of YEC. It is important to note that these churches facilities are available on a first come first serve basis and is up to you to coordinate your stay with the given church. 7 Youth Evangelism Conference 2014 CHECK-IN INFO. Check-in Information Groups can check in between 4:00 PM-6:30 PM on Friday in the lobby of the Worship Center at the West Virginia Nazarene Camp. It is recommended that you check-in at your hotel prior to registration. Groups arriving after 6:30 PM and all Saturday Registration will be able to register upon arrival. Adult contact persons are the only people who will go through the onsite check-in/registration process. Please no more than two adults per group at the registration table. Upon check-in, you will receive T-shirts for your group (according to the sizes you specified when you pre-registered---any substitutions will be made only as sizes are available) YEC Wristband Lanyard/ Name badge for each participant Schedule Restaurant options Seating at YEC is on a first come, first-serve basis.
