1 Preschool & Kindergarten Holy Family Parish Faith Formation Information Sheet Meets SUNDAY MORNINGS from 10:05 to 10:55 in the Holy Family School cafeteria from September 13 th, 2015 to May 22 nd, 2016 (in between the 9am and 11am morning Masses) When you complete your registration you will be sent a class assignment and yearly calendar of events. Elementary Faith Formation (1 st to 5 th Grade) Meets MONDAY NIGHTS from 6:30 to 7:40pm in the Holy Family School building from September 14 th, 2015 to May 23 rd, 2016 Elementary Faith Formation meets in the Holy Family School building. When you complete your registration you will be sent a class assignment and yearly calendar of events. If you have a 2 nd Grader or older who has not received First Reconciliation and First Communion, please fill out the Sacramental Registration form in addition to the regular registration information. If you wish, you may teach your child at home with our home school option. The same fees apply. Home school students are welcome to participate in all Faith Formation events. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level 1 (3-6 year olds) Monday Afternoon: 3:30 5:30pm Wednesday Morning: 9:30 11:30am Thursday Morning: 9:30 11:30am Level 2 (6-9 year olds) Wednesday Afternoon: 3:30 5:30pm Thursday Afternoon: 3:30 5:30pm Level 3 (9-12 Year olds) Thursday 4:00-6:00pm Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori-based faith formation program. The program meets from September to May in the Dominican Room located in the Holy Family Youth Center. For LEVEL 1, children must be potty trained and capable of participating in an educational setting. They must also turn 3 years old by September 1st. If you have doubts or concerns about your child s readiness for this experience, please contact the director, Claudia Petursson, at , ext. 122 or claudiap@hfkparish.org For LEVELS 2 and 3, no previous experience is required; your child did not have to complete the previous levels.

2 First Reconciliation & First Communion Classes meet MONDAY EVENINGS from 6:30 7:40pm in the Holy Family School Building. 2 nd Graders who are receiving Sacraments meet with their regular 2 nd grade classes each week. Older children who are receiving Sacraments meet with both their regular grade classes, as well as a sacramental preparation group throughout the year. First Reconciliation is received in December and First Communion is received in May a calendar of meetings and events will be ed to you when we receive your registration form. If you have a 2 nd Grader or Older who has not received First Reconciliation and First Communion, please fill out the Sacramental Registration form in addition to the regular registration information. 12:2 Ministries: 6-12 grades Junior High: 6-8 th grade Senior High: 9-12 th grade 12:2 Ministries is a comprehensive faith formation program for 6-12 th graders that uses a variety of events to encourage and assist teens in connecting with their faith on a more mature and intimate level and developing a strong personal relationship with Jesus. Participation in parish level faith formation is important for all adolescents and is an important addition to a school religion class or campus ministry involvement. Weekly youth nights are held on Sunday night, from 6:30-8pm following the Youth and Young Adult Mass. Edge (Jr. High) meets in the school cafeteria and Life Teen (Sr. High) meets in the parish social hall. Bible studies, retreats, social events, dinners, and many other events are held throughout the year. For complete information, please visit our website at Confirmation If you have received Baptism and First Communion, and will be 16 years of age by May 2017, you are eligible to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this year. Preparation typically begins in September and we celebrate the Confirmation Mass in May. It is REQUIRED that the candidate for Confirmation and at least ONE of their parents attend ONE of the informational meetings that are held in June, August and September. You will not be able to register for the Confirmation Program if you have not attended one of these meetings. o Meeting are held from 7-8pm in the Holy Family Room in the Youth Center and this year s dates are: Thursday, June 10th Tuesday, August 16th Thursday, September 1st Tuesday, September 13th
