Coordinator Comments Blessings everyone and welcome to the Ostara issue of the Louisville Pagan Pride newsletter. It finally looks like Spring has sprung. The last couple of days I have been outside and have observed the birds singing, tree's beginning to bud, and several plants and flowers beginning to poke through and seek some sun. Depending on your path and or tradition, there are many different ways to celebrate Ostara. But typically, it is observed by celebrating the return of spring and the fertility of the land. Ostara Circle. CUUPS and First U are proud to host the Ostara Circle and Pot luck Dinner on Sunday, March 22nd, at First U, there will be an Ostara Circle. Doors Open at 5:30 pm and Circle starts at 6 pm. There will be a "Potluck Dinner" after Circle. Ask that everyone please bring a dish to share. More info on this Circle. Please plan to arrive early. One thing we in this Community can be thankful for is that we have four Festival sites in our area. With the return of Spring, each one of the Festival sites are beginning to prepare their land and facility for the 2015 Festival Season. One thing I can say is that each one of these sites depend on "Volunteers" to help staff and get their facilities ready for the season. If you contact them, there is the possibility that you might be able to "barter" some Volunteer service time in exchange of fee's for a festival. The Festival sites are: Our Haven, Midian, Harmony, and Lothlorien. On the "last page" of the Louisville Pagan Pride newsletter... you will find "Links" to each of these sites. 2 Ostara Correspondence Spinach Quiche Muffins! Deities; The Maiden, Astarte, Aurora, Eostre, Eos, Ostara, Kore or Persephone (as the maiden), The Green Man, Ares, Mars, Attis, Adonis, Osiris, Narcissus, Hyacinth and Dionysus Symbols & Decorations: four leaf clover, baskets, eggs, lambs, flowers, chicks, bunnies, budding twigs, flowers, pussy willows, sprouting bulbs, colored 1 tbsp. coconut oil (or butter) 2 cups of fresh baby spinach (can reduce to preference) 7 eggs 18 oz package of baby bella or white mushrooms (optional) diced small 1/4 cup finely diced red bell pepper (optional) 1/4 cup finely diced onion (option) 1/4 cup shredded cheese of your choice Salt and Pepper *other additions; sausage, bacon, asparagus, broccoli, etc.) ribbons Colors: Green, Yellow Herbs/Flowers: Honeysuckle, Iris, Peony, Violet, Woodruff, Gorse, Olive, Iris, Narcissus, Daffodils, Jonquils, Primrose, Forsythia, Crocus, all spring flowers Stones/Gems: Jasper, amethyst, aquamarine, bloodstone and red jasper. Foods: Lamb, eggs, seeds, leafy green vegetables, spiced or flower cupcakes, fruits, hot cross buns, sprouts, honey cakes, unleavened bread. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and then start to heat a skillet with the coconut oil (or butter) to sauté the mushrooms, onions, and peppers. Do this for about 5-6 minutes till soft. Add spinach and cook for another 4-5 minutes or until tender. Drain well. In a large mixing bowl whisk eggs until mixed completely. Add the sautéed ingredients and continue to mix. Add cheese as well. In a muffin tin, spray or coat with grease to help release after cooking. Pour mixture into muffin tin and bake for minutes until set and a knife comes out clean from the center. You can store these in the freezer or refrigerator and microwave for later!

She has offered an element of healing for us, as we are still mourning the disappearance of our Husky/Wolf hybrid, Madagan. We are so blessed to have this new beginning in our family! Blessed Be! 7 Links and Resources Louisville Pagan Pride; (Also on Facebook!) Working together to bring Pagans together in the community. LPPD hosts not only the Pride Day but an Earth Day gather and a Pagan Pride Picnic! Louisville Pagan Pride is held at the Brown Foreman Amphitheater (Yellow Lawn) next to Tumbleweed on River Rd. Local meet ups and circles Louisville Witches Meetup and Pagans Night Out; A Meetup group working to bring unity to the Pagan community and fostering fellowship and gathering for all different paths and traditions. Join us the 4th Tuesday monthly at 7pm at Diamond Pub and Billiards at 630 Barret Ave in the Highlands area. We meet in the VIP room next to the main bar. Pagan Craft Night; Hosted at the same location as the Witches Meetup group (Diamonds Pub), we gather together and do what most of us do best, and craft! Each month we show you have to do a different pagan themed craft that is not only cost effective but great for the whole family to do! First Tuesday every month at 7pm, hope to see you there. We Witches Full Moon Gatherings; Hosting Full Moon open circles in the Forestry in Henryville, IN. All are welcome and we host a pot luck before the circle. We meet every full moon at the first shelter house right inside the Forestry. Like us on Facebook for updates, dates, and directions! CUUPs (Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans); Hosting open Sabbat Circles on Sundays around the Sabbat dates, as well as a class on the first and third Wednesday monthly. Doors open for Circles at 5:30pm and close at 6pm, with a pot luck after the ritual. Classes begin at 7pm and usually end about 8:30pm. Classes are a blend of lecture and discussion, offering fellowship and information for those new to the path or those who have been around for a while. Cultivating Connections; cultivatingconnections.org (Also on Facebook!) Louisville Interfaith group that hosts a variety of all day workshops, events, circles, and gatherings! Wiccan Reads; Held at Heine Brothers at 119 Chenoweth Ln Louisville KY Pagan and Wiccan book club meets on the 4th Thursday monthly from 7-9pm. Festival and Event Locations Lothlorien Nature Sanctuary; Located right outside of Bedford, IN this festival site hosts many festivals and events during the entire year. Tons of locations of camp, hot outdoor showers, great bonfires, and amazing scenery. Check the website for information for membership or prices for the festivals. Our Haven Nature Sanctuary; Located right outside French Lick, IN offerings a wide variety of festivals all year round. Check the website for more details. Midian; Midian is a new event location in Southern IN. Over 25 acres of reclaimed limestone rock quarry and beautiful forests available for camping, as well as large and small events. Located in Lawrence county just off HWY 58. Check out the website for more details. Harmony Nature Sanctuary; Located in Palmyra, IN this sanctuary is a community church based on traditions of modern Spirituality and Pantheism. Offering a wide variety of festivals and events, all are welcome. See website for more details.
