Ya ll have done a terrific job of getting information to us in a timely manner. This note contains several items that, again, need a quick turn around. Please read carefully and let me know your questions and concerns. The registration for Awesome Atlanta Tours is also enclosed. This is an optional activity for delegates and is at your own cost. If you opt not to participate in the tours, we will open our hospitality area up during that time for delegates. Reservations are due with payment no later than October 13 th. Congress Additional Opportunities are available during the week. Please review the form and return it with your reservation if you are interested. These are optional and will be selected once the forms are returned. We will let you know before Congress if you have an additional assignment. Congress photos & Digital Scrapbook are optional items. You have order forms included and these are due the 13th. The photo is a group photo of our Georgia delegation. It is not one you can take with your own camera. The DVD is of the slideshow of the week. Both are optional. I have also included in your note a list of the delegates to National 4-H Congress along with their counties. You are responsible for your transportation to and from Atlanta for this event. You might want to contact neighboring counties in order to carpool. This year we have a Georgia delegation listserv available to any of you that have (natcongressga08@listserv.uga.edu) The listserv has been established and if you have an address you have gotten your first note. The listserv will have reminders posted and announcements. In addition, each of you can talk on the listserv by sending notes to the address. Please keep in mind that anything that is sent to the listserv is read by the entire delegation from Georgia including youth and adults. If you did not receive an prior to your letter, please let me know so that we can add you.
2 We also have a group on Facebook if you are a Facebook user. You can send me a message to add you to the group by adding me as a friend our looking for our group. It is called Georgia 4-H National 4-H Congress delegation. If you have not talked with your teachers now concerning your class absence on December 1 and 2 nd, make it your priority. Congress does not close until lunch time on the 2nd. If you would like to have a note sent to your school administrator concerning your absence, please let me know. I will need the name and address of the person the letter is going to as well as whether you are asking for an excuse for one class (college students) or the entire day. We do have a website on the Georgia 4-H Site that has copies of everything you will need. Check it out often for updates. We are looking forward to a super trip. 4 Georgia Delegation Special Assignments National 4-H Congress Name: County: Please rank with 1 being your first choice, any additional assignments you would like to be considered for. Each role is during the National 4-H Congress event. Attach no more than one page describing why you would like to serve in this role for National 4-H Congress. Assignments will be announced prior to Congress with more details concerning the role. State Delegate Advisor responsibility includes attending meetings of all state delegate advisors, making announcements in nightly state meetings, checking and returning mail in state mailbox. Flag Bearer responsibility includes attending practice and serving as our state representative in the parade of states on Saturday morning. Hospitality Room Leader responsibility includes assisting adults with setting up the suite each evening for meetings and assisting advisor with announcements, tickets and other items.
