2 Drop Off Time Classroom Activity Mix And Match In this activity, the children will play a counting game with their teacher and classmates once they have been dropped off in their classroom. The children will draw two cards. One will have a number and one will have an activity. They will do the activity the number of times that is on the number card. For this activity, you will need this help sheet and the Mix and Match/Lesson 5 printout from your Lesson Materials CD-ROM. Note: Place the number cards and activity cards in separate piles to prepare for the game. # 1 Note: For optional background music, set your CD player to repeat track 1 on your Entourage Jr. Soundtrack CD. 1. Hi! Welcome to class today! 2. We are going to play a counting game today while we are waiting for all our friends to get here. 3. First, I want you to get one card from this pile. 4. Then, you can get one card from this pile. 5. Let s look at them and see what you have You have a 4 and a card that shows some kids giving each other a high five. 7. So you have to give 4 high fives. Note: Continue to instruct the children as they enter your classroom on how to play the game and include them in the game. 1. Your turn to pick some cards and see what you get to do. Note: You can either have just one child perform the action on the card or you can have all the children perform the action. Actions: Strike a pose. Run the camera. Say something in a megaphone (use your hands for the megaphone). Walk the red carpet. Move in slow motion. Jump on one foot. Hug a friend. Give a high five. Do jumping jacks. Pretend to smell a flower. Hop like a bunny. Dance seconds. Wiggle seconds. Do a flip/somersault. Spin around.

4 Opening Classroom Activity Tissue Toss In this activity, the children toss a tissue across the room in order to get pieces of the lesson:. After being placed into teams, the children will toss a tissue in front of them and then hop to where it landed. They will repeat this until they have made it across the room. Each child will pick up one piece of the lesson and bring it back to their team. The teacher will help the teams organize their pieces and teach the class along with the motions. For this activity, you will need this help sheet, one tissue per child, and one set per team of the Tissue Toss/Lesson 5 printout from the Lesson Materials CD-ROM Who likes to hop? I m going to divide you into teams. Then you are going to take a tissue and throw it as far as you can in front of you. Don t crumple the tissue up. You will hop to where the tissue is and pick it up so you can toss it again. You ll keep doing that until you get to the other side of the room. There, you will pick up one piece of the lesson and bring it back to your team Once your team has picked up all three pieces of the lesson, we ll put the pieces in order and find out what we are learning today. 9. Are you ready to play? Let s get started! On your mark, get set, go! Good job! Keep tossing your tissue and hopping across the room. Great! You got all three pieces of the lesson for today. 6 Main Point Classroom Activity Thank You Prayers This activity will help the children practice praying to say Thank You to Jesus. The children will think of something they can thank Jesus for and then pray to thank Jesus for that thing. For this activity, you will need this help sheet. # 1 Note: For optional background music, set your CD player to repeat track 1 on your Entourage Jr. Soundtrack CD. 1. Who can tell me what we are learning today? (.) 2. That s right! Let s all say it together on the count of three. One, two, three. I Thank Jesus. 3. We all have so many things, and they all come from Jesus. 4. We should take time to thank Jesus for those things. 5. Let s think of some things that we have in our lives and thank Jesus for those things What are you thankful for? That s a good thing to be thankful for. Let s say a prayer to thank Jesus. Note: You can pray the prayer and have the child repeat it after you. Continue this way until all the children have said what they are thankful for and prayed to thank Jesus for it. After the activity say: 1. You all did a great job thinking of something you were thankful for and then praying to thank Jesus for that. 2. It s easy to thank Jesus for what we have. 3. 7 Craft Classroom Activity The Ten Lepers This activity will help the children remember the Bible Story for the day. The children will color one of the ten lepers to remind them that only one leper came back to say thank You to Jesus and they should thank Jesus, too. For this activity, you will need this help sheet, crayons, and the Ten Lepers/Lesson 5 printouts from your Lesson Materials CD- ROM. 1. Who did Jesus heal in our Bible Story today? (The ten lepers.) 2. That s right! Jesus healed the ten lepers. 3. One of them came back to say, Thank You to Jesus. 4. We should tell Jesus, Thank You for all the things we have in our lives, too. 5. We are going to color this picture of the ten lepers. 6. Pick one of the lepers to color so that you can remember that one leper came back to thank Jesus. 7. Leave the rest of the lepers plain. 8. Let s get started! Here is your page of lepers. 2. Remember to just pick one to color. 3. The words at the bottom of the page say, and that s what we are learning today. 4. Let s all say it together.. 5. Good job! After the activity say: 1. Good job coloring your leper. 2. You only colored one of the lepers because there was only one leper who came back to thank Jesus. 3. The rest of them didn t come back to say Thank You. 4. 8 Closing Classroom Activity Act It Out This activity will help the children remember the story of the one leper who came back to thank Jesus. The children will act out the story of the lepers. For this activity, you will need this help sheet. # 1 Note: For optional background music, set your CD player to repeat track 1 on your Entourage Jr. Soundtrack CD. 1. When Jesus healed the ten lepers, how many came back to say thank You to Him? (One.) 2. That s right! Just one of the ten lepers came back to tell Jesus thank You. 3. Jesus gives us everything we have and we should always remember to thank Him. 4. Now, we are going to act out the story of the ten lepers. 5. Who wants to be my lepers? 6. I will need one of you to be the Thankful Leper. Note: If your class is big enough, pick ten children to be the lepers. If not, you can have a small number of them represent the ten lepers and one of them be the one who came back to thank Jesus. 7. Now, I also need someone to be Jesus. 8. Lepers, you stand over here and Jesus, you stand here. 9. The rest of you will be the audience and I want you to cheer when the one leper comes back to thank Jesus. 10. Let s get started! Note: Read the following story while directing the children what to do when it s their turn. One day, Jesus entered a village. (Jesus, start walking towards the lepers.) Jesus saw the lepers standing far away. (Jesus shade eyes and look at the lepers.) The lepers had a sickness that hurt their skin. They had to live outside the city, too, so no one else would get their sickness. (Lepers, itch your arms.) When the lepers saw Jesus coming, they cried out to Him! Jesus, have mercy on us! (Lepers, say, Jesus, have mercy on us! and wave your arms in the air.) Jesus did have mercy on the lepers. He went to them and told them to go to the priests. (Lepers, move away from Jesus like you are 27

9 Closing Classroom Activity Continued going to town to see the priest. Look at your skin on your arms as you walk away.) As the lepers walked away, they noticed that their skin was getting better! They were completely healed of their sickness before they got to the priests. (Lepers, leap for joy.) One of the lepers came back to Jesus. (Thankful Leper, come back to Jesus and kneel at Jesus feet.) He fell at Jesus feet and thanked Him for all He had done. (Thankful Leper, say, Thank you, Jesus. Audience, cheer for the thankful leper.) Jesus asked the Thankful Leper where the other men were then told him to stand up and go. (Thankful Leper, walk away from Jesus.) Jesus was disappointed. (Jesus, put your head down like you are sad.) Only one of the ten lepers He had healed came back to thank Him. We should always thank Jesus for what He s done for us, and we should take time to tell Him we are thankful. Everyone, clap and cheer for our actors! After the activity say: 1. Good job acting out our story today! 2. We need to remember to be like the one leper who came back to thank Jesus for healing him. 3. Let s say what we are learning one more time today.. Summary: Jesus healed ten lepers and only one of them came back to say thank You. Jesus gives us everything we have, and we need to take time to thank Him for all He does for us. 10 Pick Up Time Classroom Activity Movie Memory Game This activity will help the children remember their lesson for the day while they are waiting to be picked up. The children will play a memory game using pictures from the Bible Story as well as some of the items seen in the lesson. For this activity, you will need this help sheet and the Movie Memory Game/Lesson 3 printout from your Lesson Materials CD- ROM. 1. I really enjoyed seeing Moviestar and her friends today. 2. Do you remember what they learned? (I Thank Jesus.) 3. That s right! We should thank Jesus. 4. Let s all say that together!. 5. In our Bible Story, Jesus healed ten lepers and only one of them came back to say thank You to Him. 6. Let s play a game. I have some pictures from our Bible Story and from the movie set. 7. You will turn over two pictures. If they match, you can hold onto those cards. 8. If they don t match, turn them back over and the next person will take a turn. 9. Let s get started! A leper is someone who has a sickness that hurts their skin. When the lepers saw Jesus, they cried out to Him to have mercy on them. 10. Lepers on their way to the priest Jesus did have mercy on the lepers. He healed them and told them to go see the priest.

Jesus disappointed Jesus was disappointed because only one of the lepers came back to say thank you. We should always be thankful for everything Jesus does for us. After the activity say: 1.
