The cost is $35 per arrangement and you may choose a flat-backed, fan-type arrangement or a vase piece for the same price. You may choose your colors, and most flowers, too. (Certain flowers do cost extra). Monetary donations and Gift Cards to Shaw s or Stop-n-Shop in the amounts of $5 or $10 are also welcomed. Look for the special Mission envelopes in the pews on August 14 & 28. You may contribute anytime during the month of August. Simply write Lenore s Pantry on the memo line of your check. The Mission Committee thanks you for your generous support of our monthly mission projects. From the Women s Union CRAFT NIGHTS for the annual Village Green Fair will be held in the Vestry at 7:00pm on Monday evenings August 8 & 22, September 12 & 26 and October 10 & 24. 4 The Village Green Fair will be held on November 12, 2016 and we NEED EVERYONE S HELP for a successful fair. New Fair Coordinator this year will be Cheryl Peterson and she wants to hear from you (cgppeterson@aol.com or ). Did You Know??? Can you make a commitment to make something to donate to the fair, or commit to help in some way the day of the fair? A successful fair provides about $4, income for the church plus additional funds to enable the Women s Union to continue helping out in other areas of our church. Do you work with wood, leather or metals? Maybe you sew, quilt, knit, crochet or do floral work. How about cooking, baking or candy making? Or can you donate jewelry, books or holiday decorations? The list is endless with other specialty items people have made that have earned our fair an excellent reputation in the community. Without your help, the Fair may not be able to continue in the years to come. So, please, or call TODAY so we can count on your help. Thank you, Cheryl Peterson
5 The Ways and Means Committee invites all interested persons to attend an IDEAS MEETING Tuesday, August 16th from 6-8pm in the cool Vestry. We re looking for your ideas for new fundraisers, and add-on s or tweaks we might incorporate into existing fundraisers and your thoughts for future fundraising for the church. Come hear and share some new ideas! We re looking for help with our current fundraisers, too. No committees to join commit to the event and number of hours that works for you for this year ONLY. We ll call you before the event rolls around again to ask if you re interested in working on it once more. No lifetime commitments necessary! All amounts of help are needed and welcome. Our success is built upon the gracious hospitality of our wonderful Volunteers! Come see where and how you can get involved! PLEASE COME! But if you just can t possibly come to the meeting, please DO send you ideas via to the church office at centralucc@verizon.net on or before August 16th. Do you sell a brand name product such as Tupperware, Mary Kay Cosmetics or other product? C'mon over and rent a space on our church lawn! We re having a GIANT Sale and you re invited to join us at the best location in Town right on high visibility Commonwealth Ave! PLACE: Central Congregational Church, Outside on the Lawn (beside the Christian Ed building) 115 Commonwealth Avenue Attleboro Falls, MA Great rates for 10 x 10 spaces! $35 for Street View and $30 for Lawn view. BYO Tables and Chairs or Rent an 8 table and 2 folding chairs for an add l $10 very limited number available. We'll do the advertising for you, too! We advertise in several local newspapers and Cable TV stations, including the Sun Chronicle s Friday edition Yard Sale Treasure Map! Inexpensive food and beverages available for purchase all day. Attract more buyers to your sale when you have multiple sales happening in one convenient location! Not Renting a space? We especially need your help: Setting up (6am 8am at the longest) and Cleaning up (2-3:30pm). If you can lend a hand, please contact Sue Winship at Renter Applications can be found on the table in the Vestry. Completed Renter Applications with payment can be placed in the offering plate, brought to the Church Office or mailed to the church: PO Box 1319, Attleboro Falls, MA ATTN: SALE APP. The deadline to submit your application with payment is Tuesday, September 13 th.
6 Summer 2016 Mission Lenore s Pantry Join us this summer in supporting the hungry who visit Lenore s Pantry weekly. Most are working families and seniors struggling to make ends meet. Many have young children who are out of school for the Summer and parents are having to provide 1-2 more meals a day per child. Will you be away this summer? You can mail a check to the church simply include a note that says your donation is for Lenore s Pantry. Monetary donations and Gift Cards to Shaw s or Stop-n-Shop are welcome! Gift Cards in small amounts such as $5 or $10 work best. Look for the special Mission envelopes in the pews on August 14 & 28. Donate any item from this list any Sunday this Summer: BREAKFAST Cold Cereals, Pop Tarts, Cereal Bars, Carnation Instant Breakfast, Muffin mixes, Non-Refrigerated juices including V8, and Juice Boxes, Parmalat Milk (in canned milk aisle). LUNCH Tuna(canned), Chicken(canned), Peanut Butter, Jams/Jellies, Fluff, Spaghetti-O s, Ravioli, Canned fruit, Individual fruit cups (non-refrigerated), applesauce lrg jars and individual cups. DINNERS Mac-n-Cheese, Hamburger Helper, Velveeta Skillet Dinners, Rice and rice mixes like Pilaf, Instant Potatoes such as scalloped, cheesy, mashed, etc., Baked Beans, Pasta and Sauce, Sloppy Joe Mix, Pasta Mixes (Pasta-Roni, etc) and Pasta Salad mixes, (Suddenly Salad, etc). SNACKS Lil Debbie Snack Cakes, Granola Bars, Cookies, Pretzles, chips, brownie mixes, cookie mixes in a pouch, pudding mixes and non-refrigerated cups, Jello, Crackers such as Goldfish and Cheeze-It s, Graham, and other snack crackers, and freezer pops (not already frozen). MISC Mayo, ketchup, mustard, salad dressings, relish, pickles, drink mixes such as low or No sugar Kool Aid, Lemonade, Iced Tea, etc., Non-refrigerated Juices, Coffee, instant creamers, GC s for $5-$10 to Stop-n-Shop or Shaw s. PLEASE NOTE: If you have a home garden and would like to donate fresh fruits or veggies Please call Ann Marie Fleming, the Town Health Nurse at M-TH 9am 4pm and FRI 9am 12noon to make arrangements AHEAD of your delivery of fresh foods. Please do not bring fresh foods or foods requiring refrigeration/freezer space to the church as we do not have room to store them.
