1 Pastor s Paragraphs It was like a revival all in one service, someone said to me Sunday. Yes, we were wonderfully blessed with an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our service Sunday morning and decisions that followed. Let us not forget the service began with baptism and ended with a number of others to be baptized soon as new believers. While some of those decisions for Christ had been weeks or longer in preparing spiritually, the truth is that every Sunday there are people present who need to profess faith in Christ. Pray for a continued spirit of commitment in coming days and specifically for other families seeking a church home. Don t forget to pray for those new to faith and our church. As we begin the Sunday School year this week, I am pleased to announce that we have a new Sunday School Director, Keith Cantley. Most of you know Keith and his family. He and Kristie have served as Sunday School teachers and he has served as a Deacon. He knows our church and has a genuine interest in all our Sunday School age groups. Keith is committed to helping us strengthen our work in the coming year. Our staff looks forward to working with him. Sunday School promotion day is not a big deal for most of us adults. But many of us can remember what fun it was when we were children. I hope we can celebrate with our children who are moving up and celebrate our Sunday School with others who are with the classes which have been a spiritual home for some time. I want to express particular appreciation to our teachers. First, let me thank those who are returning for faithfulness in leading classes and teaching the Word. This church is blessed with some of the finest teachers I have ever known spread across all age groups. I also want to congratulate those who are coming into our Sunday School leadership as teachers. We are grateful for your commitment and pray for much success as you share the Bible week after week. Thank you also to the Nominating Committee who did such a fine job in having all our places filled in Sunday School leadership. You are encouraged to be present Sunday evening for the special Ministry Ordination Service for Mitchell Bruce. L. Rick Marshall IN THE PULPIT A.M. Spiritual ADD Matthew 17:1-8 P.M. They are far from friends and family and are learning how to live and function in a new place with a new language and new customs. To help, the AUM Baptist Campus Ministries (BCM) is recruiting families for an International Friendship Family program to pair new students with Christian families in the community. The families are just asked to spend time with their student at least once a month and be available to answer their questions and help them adjust as needed. By just being a friend, you can make a huge difference in the life of an International student, all the while exposing yourself and your family to a new culture. If you would like to connect with a new International student and agree to spend time with them at least once a month, please contact Evelyn Pate for an application and information packet at stitchers2@charter.net or
