The minutes of the May meeting were approved. Gate tax from Gun Show is still to be sent. Once this is done the books will be closed on the Gun Show, and a final report will be created. Report was accepted as presented Webmaster's report. 2 LAND: Cascade Properties received a presentation on a new Snohomish County range in the Sultan basin. Archery may open this summer. They are encouraging the possibility of a Rendezvous in the future. Cascade properties may assist with their knowledge of Range building. There is a club in Sequim that has a black powder only range. It was thought that before we would move forward on land, we should ask them about their costs, etc.. It was also mentioned that if we really looked at the costs involved with opening and running a range, it would likely be in excess of our funds. Another conversation was held that if we wanted to do a club campout on public land, we could. If we began to exceed 100 people, or charged admission, there could be an issue. RANGEMASTER: Match scores are reported in the newsletter. Good scores from the May match. Typically, in the last few years, scores in the 150 s have been the top scores. Some comments have been heard concerning the targets we shoot. Darrell is thinking of changing the cross stick match and the 100 yd. target in It was felt the targets should remain the same throughout the year so it is consistent for the aggregate for the year. o Chuck mentioned one club does one target for their aggregate for the year. The target is shot with a mixture of positions. It was mentioned we have a number of older shooters we might need to make accommodations for, if we did something like this. RENDEZVOUS: o Pacific Primitive started on June 11th. o Harry attended a Rendezvous in PA in May. Similar issues to here with the aging of the club, and the shooters as well. OLD BUSINESS: Cub Scout Day Camp o 30th of July-Aug. 2nd. We would attend on Friday August 2 nd. o Theme: Cubs Go West o We were asked if we would participate with a fire starting display. There were a few volunteers. o Harry researched the cost of flint and steel kits. A kit is essentially $20 each. Harry thought we might need 6 kits. His thought was we could donate the kits to the cub scouts afterward. Total costs would likely add up to $300 o We should also get 6-12 safety glasses. o Wendy, the organizer, was also going to check to see if muzzleloaders could be displayed at the day camp. o A motion to provide up to $300 to support this effort was made. It was seconded and approved. 50 year patch o Board has not yet met on this. o It was mentioned this would likely need to be moved forward if we would have this done in time for the Gun Show. o Harry has also looked at other options for design work. One thought was we could do this through the paper, which another Fraternal Organization in the area had done in the past. We could still put the caveat on the contest that it is for a High School Senior for a one time $500 Scholarship.

3 NEW BUSINESS: Board meeting may be needed: o Discuss 50 year patch o Discussion of investments. GOOD OF THE ORDER Jerry is now the Secretary of the Issaquah Sportsmans Club. Range will be closed for 2 weeks in August when the range is being mined by a company from Oregon. Questions or comments regarding information in this newsletter may be directed to the secretary. Phone or please (206) or tmfair@msn.com It is noted in this news letter that one requirement of membership to Cascade Mountain Men is outlined in Article V of our Bylaws, which states: Membership in good standing, in any one of the National Rifle Association, the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, or the Washington State Muzzle Loading Association shall be a prerequisite for membership in CMM. Please provide the secretary with your membership information in any of the above organizations. Thank you.
