4 Prime Timers activities By Donna Macek Prime Timers held their annual Christmas Party on December 13 at 4:00 p.m. with 23 in attendance. Hostesses were Mary Garcia and Donna Macek. A delicious meal catered by Nadlers from Wellington was served. A fun time was had playing bingo. Also, a wonderful collection of diapers and wipes for Baby Grace was donated by the attendees. Thank you to all Prime Timers for your donations. The next Prime Timers luncheon meeting will be February 14 at noon at the meeting hall. Please bring a covered dish. Hosts will be Ruth Flynn and Mary Donovan. Bring nonperishable food and/or cleaning supplies for donation to the Community Service Center. Everyone 55 and older is invited to join. Time has changed for the Bunco game from 6:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the 2019 year, but still will be on the first Wednesday of each month. The next Bunco day will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019, and the next one after that will be February 6. As usual bring your own drink and a snack to share and of course, your $5.00. All are invited to attend. Funny Bones Endangered Species Lost in the woods, a hiker spends two days wandering around with no food. Finally, he spots a bald eagle, hits the bird with a big rock and eats it. A park ranger stumbles on the scene and arrests the man for killing an endangered species. In court, the hiker explains that he was on the edge of starvation and had no choice. Considering the circumstances, I find you not guilty, says the judge. But I have to ask what did the eagle taste like? Well, Your Honor, the hiker replies, it tasted like a cross between a whooping crane and a spotted owl. Saving grace My niece made some food for another family at church. She prayed over it, asking the kids if they d like to add anything. Her 3-year-old daughter, Boston, said, Thank you, God, that we didn t give them all of our food. Are Prayers answered? When my granddaughter Keilei was 8, she asked me, Grandma, does God answer prayers? Yes, he does, I replied. Then she asked, Will he give you whatever you ask for? Again, I replied yes. Then Keilei lifted her arms and yelled, Thank you, Jesus! Grandma s getting me a dog! A special name I took our 4-year-old granddaughter, Halle, to the corral on pregnancy testing day to watch as the veterinarian did ultrasounds on our cows. After a positive test, the vet shouted out, Call it good! I explained to Halle this meant there was a baby in the cow s tummy. She replied, I don t want to call the baby Good; I want to call it Queen Elsa. 4 9

MORNING CLASS will take place at 9:00 on Thursdays at the YEC. EVENING CLASS will take place at 7:00 on Thursdays also at the YEC. There will be 10 sessions, each with a DVD lesson from Bishop Robert Barron. Main activity will be working with replenishing the Altar linens. February will also be a quiet month with the only project planned is preparing for the King Cake sale on March 2nd and 3 rd. There will be advance notice in the Bulletin for taking orders and all the details. We continue to be responsible for cleaning the church on the last Friday of each month at 9 a.m. All help is welcomed. All the women of the Parish are invited to come to our monthly meetings and/or help with various projects we do to support Parish life. We also are more than happy to have you join even if meeting attendance is not possible at this time. We offer an electronic members only option and you will receive by the monthly minutes and any other Altar Society correspondence. Our monthly minutes are also posted on the St. George Catholic Church website. We meet the third Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Meeting Hall. 8 5
