Moving forward in our financial giving helps everyone grow. Our giving supports our ministry to children, teens, and adults. Our giving reaches out to our neighbors. Our giving supports our beautiful building and grounds. Our building provides a safe space for our worship and fellowship, as well as for community groups. We want all of our members to make a commitment to support the ministry of the church. We want 100% participation. As you consider how you can move forward in your giving, we are not just talking about finances. Please also consider how you can move forward in all areas of your faith and involvement in the life of this church. How can you move forward in service? Prayer? Worship? Study? Challenge yourself to move forward and take responsibility for your place in the life of the church. LEND A HAND Once Christmas is over, we need volunteers for removal and storage of decorations. Roz Catoe at rozcatoe1@gmail.com if you can spare an hour or two on Saturday, December 30th beginning at 10am or just show up. There are shawls and lap blankets at both entrances to the Sanctuary that may be used by anyone that is chilly during service. Please return them to the basket after service. 7
8 The Angel Tree gifts have been delivered to Sistercare, and the women and children in our community who are taking shelter there from domestic violence this holiday season will have a brighter Christmas because of the generosity of our congregation in this season of giving. May we keep them in our prayers this season and throughout the year as they transition through a difficult time of change and uncertainty in their lives. Angel Tree gifts have also been delivered to those served by our Thornwell Building Families program, providing families experiencing stress in their lives with one less worry. Knowing that their children will have presents on Christmas morning is a great relief to families in crisis and helps to promote healing in family relationships. As we continue to ponder the unfathomable significance of the birth of a tiny baby over 2000 years ago on the other side of the world, let us seek to share with others the example Jesus gave us for how to live our lives in community with one another. Make caring, sharing, and giving a part of your Christmas traditions, in celebration of the salvation that Jesus Christ has given all of us. Opportunities for missions and outreach are all around us. Throughout the year we have highlighted twelve of the missions of our church. Take a moment to reflect on these, and other opportunities, and in this season, decide to become intentional in serving those in need. Christ, our Savior, taught us that, as we do unto the least of our brothers and sisters, we do unto Him. Show your appreciation for the hard work our praise band puts into the Christmas programs by volunteering or by signing up to provide a food item for the band dinner THIS Tuesday, December 19th: Bring food items to the Potts Hall Kitchen by 6pm Tue., Dec. 19th. JOIN THE LUNCH BUNCH TOMORROW, Monday, Dec. 18 at 11:30am at Pontiac House of Pizza, Two Notch Rd. for fun, food and fellowship. Questions? Call Dody Imhoff at
