1 12 th Month Deember, 2014 The following pening was hosen to be read at 12th Month Meeting for Worship: The Truth is one and the same always, and though ages and generations pass away, and one generation goes and another omes, yet the word and power and spirit of the liing God endures foreer, and is the same and neer hanges. Margaret Fell -Sok Donations are being olleted at the meetinghouse. -Plan on Christmas Musi Deember 21 st. If you feel inspired, bring your faorite musi, or a CD, or an instrument. Contat Melodee Lambert for details. Present: Sue Ellen Ripkin, Randy Holiday, Rihard Smith, Brian Martin, Diana Hirshi, Rand Hirshi, Julian Cossman Cooke, Roseanna Hopper, Julia Zinander Preious minutes were approed. Ministry & Counsel: No Report. Peae & Soial Conerns: Would like to inrease the meeting s prison ministries in partiular to sex offenders. A friend would like to know if the meeting would like to support eduation in the prison
2 system. Colleting soks was suessful and wanted to do that again. The ommittee would like to reinstitute honk and wae. A friend spoke in faor of supporting honk and wae. The ommittee would like to publiize a statement on the use of drones for the publi to ontat their representaties. House Committee: The house ommittee is a ommittee of one. The house ommittee would like to purhase a ladder that is tall enough to reah all the lights in the meetinghouse. The sprinkling system is drained for winter. The house ommittee would like to see the meeting room auumed after eah use. Programs: No report. Treasurer: Written report will be submitted. Report aepted. Nominating: Did not meet, but will disuss how to fill the aanies on the house ommittee. Library/Arhiist: No Report. First Day Shool: No Report. Newsletter: No Report. New Business: The meeting will purhase of a ladder. A friend desribed the People s Listening Projet that would support hanges in soial justie in the Salt Lake ommunity. Friends approed of another sok olletion projet. Friends approed of promoting the minute on Drones. A friend would like the meeting to support her to organize and publiize the Honk and Wae. 3 4 pm on the first Sat of the month was the suggested time for Honk and Wae. Friends approed. A friend spoke to the lak of onlusion from the threshing meeting. There is 7 years remaining on the urrent mortgage, whih arries a 7% interest rate. A friend wrote in faor of using the surplus for a list of improements inluding an upstairs bathroom, resurfaing the parking lot and remodeling the kithen. A friend spoke in faor of separating surpluses from maintenane of the urrent building rather than improing the existing faility. A friend spoke in faor of improing the building to inrease the membership and omfort of friends and attenders. A friend noted that the building is less important in attrating new friends, but more beause of Quaker ways.
3 A friend spoke in faor of adding aessibility to the meeting and against inreasing our loan. A friend spoke in faor of promoting outside groups and that maintaining the building would make it attratie to outside groups and thus put the meeting on a more sound finanial situation. A friend spoke in faor of getting details for the ost of the arious projets. He noted that he felt the building should meet minimum odes. A friend noted that the ost of front door was $2000. Resurfaing the parking lot was about $3000. A friend spoke to adding a bathroom upstairs, but not improing the parking lot. A friend spoke to asking the house ommittee to hae speifi bids on the arious projets. Minute: Friends approe that the house ommittee researh the arious projets and report to the meeting about the osts of both the projets and speifis of a refinaned loan. A friend had a question about how Quakers elebrate birthdays.
