1 8 th Month August, Salt Lake Friends will be hosting an informal gathering of Utah Friends and our friends on 27 September The following Queries were chosen for Seventh Month: 1. Take heed, dear Friends, to the promptings of love and truth in your hearts. Trust them as the leadings of God whose Light shows us our darkness and brings us to new life. 2. Bring the whole of your life under the ordering of the spirit of Christ. Are you open to the healing power of God s love? Cherish that of God within you, so that this love may grow in you and guide you. Let your worship and your daily life enrich each other. Treasure your experience of God, however it comes to you. Remember that Christianity is not a notion but a way. Britain Yearly Meeting, Quaker Faith & Practice, 5th Ed. Present: Julia Zanata, Jenny Kyzak, Randy Holladay, Zane Hirschi-Neckel, Jeff Scarboro, Rand Hirschi, Diana Hirschi, Richard Smith, Brian Martin No meeting for business in June Will approve the minutes Old Business:

The committee decided to meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Hirschi house. The state of the meeting in general, and meeting for worship in particular, were discussed. The Committee discussed procedures for clearness committees for membership. Upon a request for a clearness committee, three members of the Meeting will be named consisting of one member of M&C and two others. The M&C member will report the clearness committee s findings to M&C, which will report to business meeting. The need to move such requests along without undue delay was emphasized. The Committee decided to renew a practice of short, not more than 3 minute, monthly talks on a Quaker topic at the rise of meeting, probably on 3rd of 4th First Day. Will meet in September.

4 Programs Programs will not start until September. Treasurer Report July 13, 2014 The SLMM balance for checking is $19,230 and saving $844. I have paid the IMYM assessment for 26 members at $50 each. I have made contributions to the alphabet groups, as planned on the 2014 budget. I've attached a 6 month budget to actual comparison. You'll note that our check donations are about $1500 low year to date. Cash donations to the grey box are also low. On the good side, utilities are less than planned for, we have economized somewhat there. Quaker Meetinghouse Fund Checking $3,232, saving - UFF - $946. Suellen Riffkin Treasurer
