16 marking the Sacred: The Temple Mount/Haram al-sharif in Jerusalem Providence College June 5-7, 2017 This collaborative and ecumenical conference provides a common forum f or leading international scholars to address the history and archaeology of this extraord inary 35-acre platform and its sacred status. The project seeks to be an agent of dialogue by bringing together diverse scholars in the humanities whose research furthers our understanding of the site and its historical context. 18 People of the Books Is there a Jewish book that inspired you? A good beach novel? A work of poetry? One that you read to your kids? Or maybe that your parents read to you? An author that provoked you? One you think someone else might enjoy? Come share your book with us & participate in a Jewish book show & tell! Saturday, June 10 after kiddush in the Bohnen Vestry The Temple Emanu-El Library invites you to a community-wide book show and tell. Just show up with a book in hand and we will go around the room, one person at a time, and tell each other what our books are about and why we care about them. Refreshments will be served. RSVPs are not required. 19 There are so many new children s books at the Rosen Library. Just since the start of May, almost ONE HUNDRED books have been added to the Children s book section of the Rosen Library, both in the children s book cart as well as the Juvenile bookcase. These new books include holiday books for throughout the Jewish year, in addition to Folktales and other general books on Jewish themes. If you haven t visited the Rosen Library Children s section in a long time, it s about time that you and your children take a visit to see the new books to discover. There are just so many books, that they ll be mixed in with the old favorites. As always, some of the Rosen Library s children s book collection can be read in the downstairs playroom as well as the back of the main sanctuary, on a rotational basis. But along with the rest of the library, the entire Rosen Library is open every day to check these new books out!

Our program, Kosher Meals on Wheels allows the elderly to stay in their homes as long as possible.
