Shabbos, March 24 ~ Synaplex Shabbat and Kiddush Luncheon with Scholar-In-Residence, Rabbi Yosef Landa, (Director, Chabad of Greater St. Louis) and Dr. Robin Park (Member of the Matzevah Foundation, which restores desecrated Jewish cemeteries in Poland). On Shabbos morning Rabbi Landa s topic is The Teachings of Chassidism, and what it has to teach contemporary Jews. Dr. Robin Park s topic will be: Christians Travel to Poland to Repair Jewish Cemeteries. Shabbos, March 24 ~ 5:45 pm ~ Family Shalosh Seudos Program with Rabbi Yosef and Shiffy Landa. Prior to Mincha Rabbi Landa will speak on Inspiration & Empowerment: A Few Lines of Tanya and Rebbitzen Shiffy Landa will speak on FYI: Chassidism IS for Women. Parshas: Vayakhel Pekudei This week we read the final portion of Exodus, a book which began with the Jewish people enslaved to Pharaoh in Egypt and now ends with the completion of the construction of the Mishkan (Tabernacle) in the desert. Exodus is known as 'the Book of Redemption'; redemption was achieved not only through our escape from slavery, but also through receiving the Torah on Mt. Sinai which gave purpose to that freedom. The climax of that salvation was when G-d rested His presence amongst the Jewish nation when the Mishkan was completed. Parshas Vayakhel (Exodus 35: :20) begins with Moses assembling the entire nation of Israel to transmit the details of the construction and fabrication of the Mishkan as described in the three previous Torah portions. However, Moses first cautions them about the fundamental mitzvah to observe Shabbat. The nation is reminded that although the construction of the Mishkan is of transcendent importance, it does not take precedence over the weekly observance of Shabbat. The portion describes that the Jewish people came forward with their generous contributions for the Mishkan's construction, producing a surplus of supplies. The craftsmen are selected and the building begins.

3 Parshas Pekudei (Exodus 38: :38) begins with a complete accounting of the gold, silver and copper contributed by the people for use in the Mishkan. Following Moses' inspection and approval of the many utensils and unassembled parts, Moses sets up the Mishkan on Rosh Chodesh Nissan as each part is anointed and arranged in its proper location. And as G-d promised, His glory fills the Mishkan. Cash Cards Orders are now being taken through March 15. Use the card for all your shopping needs. The order form is attached to this week s bulletin. Getting Ready for Pesach Selling Chometz / Mechiras Chometz: All non-pesach food that cannot be eaten before Pesach can be sold to a non-jew. Rabbi Smason will be available to act as your agent for the selling of chometz. Passover begins Friday night, March 30, There are two ways to sell your Chometz to Rabbi Smason: 1. In Person with Rabbi Smason: If you would like to make Rabbi Smason your agent for the sale of Chometz, please call and make an appointment with Rabbi Smason, whether in the office or at minyan. 2. By Telephone: Call Jeff at the shul office, , ext. 2 until noon on Wednesday, March 28. Make checks payable to NHBZ with the notation SELLING CHOMETZ. Tzdekah for Pesach - Vaad Hoeir Maos Chittim Campaign ~ The campaign assists people in Israel and St. Louis to properly observe and celebrate Pesach.
