We hope that you are as excited as we are for this special opportunity to bond with students from across North America and Europe for a Shabbat of fun, learning and inspiration! We are here to make your stay both meaningful and comfortable. Please do not hesitate to speak to any of our staff regarding any questions or concerns you may have. Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom! Jewish Fact/Info: Examine traditional Jewish texts or listen to historical and general Jewish content. Values/Ethics: Question world ethics and challenge life values through the lens of the Torah. Inspiration: Personal journeys and challenges with meaningful messages. Chill Lounge: Meet Jewish students from other schools to connect, chillax and grab a snack. No formalities. Taste of Yeshiva Experience: A series of advanced lectures and discussions running concurrent to the traditional Shabbaton workshops. The Taste of Yeshiva includes text-based sessions, chavrutah style oneon-one learning and in-depth lectures taught by master teachers from renowned Jewish institutes of higher learning. Binyomin Abrams shares some of his experiences from his journey to Judaism and insights from his continued path through life as a scientist, university lecturer, and observant Jew. Part II A Modern Jewish Hero (and comic) Dr. David Nesenoff Hear the inside story of David taking on renowned White House correspondent Helen Thomas. This is a story about the fight against anti-jewish behavior, including death threats, intrigue and triumph... Get ready for a night of humor, peppered with lifeaffirming lessons. You Can Be a Jewish Leader! Mr. Kivi Bernhard Room F An informal discussion about the value of leadership and effective tools to attain it. Presently, Dr. Abrams lives in Boston with his wife and children where he teaches Chemistry at Boston University. Mr. Kivi Bernhard is an award winning speaker and internationally acclaimed author. 46 FACULTY PROFILES Rabbi Beryl Epstein was born in Tennessee and moved to Brooklyn at the age of 18. Fascinated by the Chassidic culture and wanting to share his discovery, he began the renowned Jewish Discover Tours. Rabbi Epstein has led thousands of Jews through the streets of Crown Heights, enlightening and entertaining them with his wit and Southern warmth. Rabbi Boruch Hecht Director of Admissions at Yeshiva Tiferes Bachurim in Morristown, NJ grew up in rural Lomita, California as the only Jewishly observant boy his age. He subsequently studied in Los Angeles, Miami Beach, and Chicago. Rabbi Hecht was ordained by the late Sefardic Chief Rabbi of Israel Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu and joined the Rabbinical College of America faculty in Moshe Hecht is a Chassidic indie-folk artist. Navigating through multiple genres including classic rock and reggae, Moshe uses organic arrangements and his soulful, engaging voice to spread messages of inspiration that speak to people from all walks oflife. Rabbi Boruch Kaplan was born in Vancouver, Canada and moved to Israel as a student in He has been teaching Torah in Israel and abroad for over 30 years, serving as senior lecturer at an array of yeshivas and seminaries. She serves as a full-time lecturer and mentor in Machon Alte Women s Seminary. Rivky is a much sought-out teacher who has inspired audiences around the world. Rabbi Meir Levinger is director of the Women s Program at Mayanot Institute of Jewish Studies and lives in Jerusalem with his wife and children where he serves as a full-time lecturer and mentor. Dr. David Nesenoff is a filmmaker, musician and author and is widely known for his viral video interview of White House journalist Helen Thomas anti-jewish rant. He has spoken worldwide on topics including anti-semitism on campus and living Jewishly in a modern world. His addresses on four continents have received rave reviews for being incredibly funny, mindblowing and with deep substance. His audience members have been known to say, My jaw hurts from laughing. Rabbi DovBer Pinson is a world-renowned scholar, author, Kabbalist, and beloved spiritual teacher. With his deep understanding of Kabbalah and broad range of knowledge and influence, Rabbi Pinson is accessing the deepest truths of the universe and finding a way to bring it to the world. Rabbi Immanuel Storfer is the Director and Founder of Yeshiva Torah Ohr and the Miami Torah Experience, in Miami Beach, FL. He has served as a spiritual mentor to hundreds of young Jews from all walks of life. Rabbi Storfer has traveled to many communities nationwide, sharing his experience transitioning from Conservative Judaism to a traditional Torah-observant lifestyle. Rabbi Shais Taub is an internationally known speaker, writer and teacher on topics of Jewish spirituality who has become known for his work in the field of addiction recovery. NPR dubbed him an expert in Jewish mysticism and the 12 Steps, and The New York Times called him a phenomenon. His bestselling book, G-d of Our Understanding: Jewish Spirituality and Recovery from Addiction was the #1 selling Jewish book on Amazon.com and was praised by Publishers Weekly as a singular resource for those in need.
