The Greatest Commandment Mark 12:28-34
LOVE GOD OTHERS
One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, Of all the commandments, which is the most important? The most important one, answered Jesus, is this: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Mark 12:28 29 (NIV)
Shema to hear; an expression used by Jews to declare the essence of their faith in God. Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Deuteronomy 6:4 (NIV)
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 31 The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. Mark 12:30 31 (NIV)

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 31 The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. Mark 12:30 31 (NIV)
Whoever has my commands and keeps How do we know if we truly love God? them is the one who loves me. John 14:21 (NIV)

Sanctification to function less like the world and more like Christ. 1. Positional Sanctification 2. Experiential Sanctification 3. Ultimate Sanctification
1. Body Experiential Aspect of Sanctification (Lifestyle Worship) 2. Praise 3. Service 4. Stewardship
Four Sacrifices of the Believer Priest Body: Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1 (NIV) Praise, Service, Stewardship: Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:15 16 (NIV)
Whoever has my commands and keeps How do we know if we truly love God? them is the one who loves me. John 14:21 (NIV)
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 31 The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. Mark 12:30 31 (NIV)
For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: Love your neighbor as yourself. Galatians 5:14 (NIV)
Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:11 (NIV)
Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 1 John 4:20 (NIV)
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13:35 (NIV)
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8 (NIV)
Unleash extravagant love, as Christ has loved us.
You have no true religion but in and by that spirit of love that is God Himself living and working in you. - Andrew Murray
The Ride Home 1. Love God with everything you have and everything you are. 1. The Body Romans 12:1 2. Praise Hebrews 13: Service 4. Stewardship
The Ride Home 2. Discover your gifts and put them to good use. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV84)
The Ride Home 3. Do SOMETHING! Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn t do it, sins. James 4:17 (NIV84)
The Ride Home 4. Serve God with an attitude of humility, not superiority, arrogance, or condescension. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus Philippians 2:5 (NIV84)
Well said, teacher, the man replied. You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices. 34 When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, You are not far from the kingdom of God. And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions. Mark 12:32 34 (NIV84)
You are not far from the kingdom of God.
Lord Jesus, I ask you to come into my life...right now. I believe that you died on the cross and arose again for me. I know I m a sinner; I ve done wrong. I ask you to forgive my sin and cleanse me from all my unrighteousness. I now accept you as my Savior and will follow you as my Lord all the days of my life. Thank you for saving me. Amen
I tell you the truth, anyone who believes has eternal life. John 6:47 (NLT)
