2 1 John 1:5-7 New International Version (NIV) 5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

3 1 John 2:3-6 New International Version (NIV) 3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, I know him, but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

4 1 John 2:9-11 New International Version (NIV) 9 Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. 10 Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble. 11 But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.

5 John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

John 7:16-18

10 If we try to convince ourselves that we can be a Christian with one foot in the world and one foot in the Kingdom, then we deceive ourselves and become a liar.

11 John 3: This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.

13 Ephesians 6:12 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

14 How did he live? * He lived to please the Father * He remained obedient no matter what the circumstance or sacrifice * He never acted on his own but only with the Father s permission and authority * He lived within the Law and rules around him.

15 He must become greater; I must become less. John 3:30 NIV He must increase, but I must decrease. ESV

16 Philippians 2:5-8 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death even death on a cross!

17 Philippians 2:3-4 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

18 If we love him we will obey his commands. (John 14:15) When we love Jesus, the Father will love us. (John 13:34-35) When we love one another, we will do nothing to cause our brother or sister in Christ to stumble. (1 John 2:10) Anything else is not of God.

19 We can do anything in the Kingdom of God he gives us in 2017, if we are living like Jesus.
