1 The Italian Association of Phraseology and Paremiology PHRASIS in cooperation with the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures and the Cognitive Linguistics Center of the University of Bucharest are proud to announce The 4 th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PHRASEOLOGY AND PAREMIOLOGY PROVERBS AND SET PHRASES, SUCH CRAZY THINGS! Bucharest, Romania, September 27-29, 2017 CALL FOR PAPERS (I) The 4th International Conference of PHRASIS Association aims to continue the exchange of ideas about the status of research in the field of phraseology and paremiology and to highlight the new trends in these two linguistic disciplines. The main object is to consider phraseology and paremiology not only as independent research fields, but also as starting points for further interdisciplinary and intercultural studies.

2 A special Conference section will be dedicated to the distinguished Romanian linguist Eugeniu Coșeriu ( ), in remembrance of the 15 years elapsed since his death. We are addressing a wide range of topics, including: General theoretical issues about phraseology and paremiology Contrastive phraseology and paremiology and translation Phraseology, paremiology and rhetorical, cultural and cognitive motivation Phraseology, paremiology and diachronic variation Phraseology, paremiology and synchronic variation Phraseology, paremiology and corpus linguistics Phraseography and paremiography Phraseology, paremiology and language teaching and language acquisition Papers and posters are supposed to be presented in one of the following languages: Italian Spanish French Romanian Portuguese English German

3 Authors may submit proposals for presentation of papers and posters by filling in the application form you can find on the web page of the Associazione Italiana PHRASIS ( with the following data: first name and last name of the applicant university or research unit the applicant represents title of paper or poster topic abstract (not over 2000 characters, no spaces) 3-5 key-words bibliography curriculum vitae (not over 1000 characters) After Scientific Committee's review, notification of acceptance will be sent out by the 30 th of April For further information, please use the contact mail of the Conference: Conference Fee: euros before the 30 th of June 2017 (70 euros for PHRASIS members) euros after the 30 th of June 2017 (100 euros for PHRASIS members)
